"So is he on the list?" Jeno asked Haechan, who was looking over the list of people who were on sight the morning he received the messages. "Yep, he's on the list." Haechan sighed. "So what're the chances of him having something to do with this?" Jeno asked.
"The chances are Zero, there's no way he would do something like this," Haechan said as he put the paper back where he found it. "So you're saying he was set up? By who though?"
"I don't know."
"Do you think it could have something to do with Sanghyo? Maybe they came back to get the phone." Jeno suggested. The duo was now out of the station and headed to a 24-hour dine-in down the street, they didn't want to interrupt those they left at home.
"They wouldn't dare," Haechan said as they pulled into the dine-in lot.
"So what do we do?" Jeno asked as they sat in a booth. "Should we talk to Minhyuk?"
Haechan stares a the menu in front of him. He's not looking for what to pick, he's thinking of the possible outcomes if they talk to Minhyuk. "No, it can't be good if too many people know about what's happening." Jeno nods in agreement.
They both turn their heads at the sound of shoes clicking against the ground. It's a woman around their age. "Hello boys what can I get for you?" She asks with her eyes seemingly lingering on Jeno, Haechan lets out an exasperated sigh, slightly shaking his head in amusement.
They both glance down at their menus, which they have failed to pay attention to until now. "Uh, I'll have the breakfast combo," Haechan says smiling up to the waitress. She notes it down, not really paying attention to him. "What about you?" She asks, her fingers grazing over Jeno's arm. He lets out an awkward chuckle "I'll just have what he's having" Jeno says avoiding her eyes.
"There are plenty of other things on the menu to choose from, should I help you?" She asks grabbing his hand. Haechan can sense Jeno's discomfort. Jeno has always been too nice, he never told off people who made him uncomfortable, he just dealt with it.
"Jeno shouldn't you get something for Jaemin? I'm sure he's going to miss you when he wakes up and sees that you're not there. You know how much he loves pancakes, he's ought to forgive you, right?" Haechan says suggestively. The waitress looks at Haechan for the first time, her face holds a confused expression. She's wondering who Jaemin is.
"Yes, I should get something for my sweet boyfriend Jaemin." The waitress instantly retreats her hand at that, she takes note that she needs three breakfast combos, but to switch the waffles out for pancakes, and to pack one for a to-go meal. She leaves with an embarrassed blush on her face. "Jeno you're too nice, you need to stand up for yourself in these kinds of situations." Haechan scolds.
"Jaemin usually helps me out when things like this happen" Jeno rolls his eyes, he knows that he's too nice, and Jaemin tells him all the time. The only time he is remotely mean or scary is when someone is ogling Jaemin. Haechan takes a look at his watch and sees that 9:00 is approaching, and the sun is also at its peak in the sky. He wonders what Renjun is doing now. He remembers how he left him. He wants to get back to him instantly. Haechan never knew that Renjun could get so needy, it was an interesting sight to see.
Renjun on the other hand was losing his mind. He was an absolute mess and he missed Haechan. He tried to calm down, but everything around him smelled like Haechan, and that only added fuel to the flame. He took a cold shower, trying to ease the heat, but that didn't work. Even his own hands didn't do him justice. "Oh, my god" Renjun cried at the huge discomfort.
"I need to get out of here" Renjun mumbled to himself as he got up from the bed. As much as he wanted to stay, he knew he would lose his mind if he did. "Ok, I fed the dogs, what else?" Renjun spoke looking around the apartment. He quickly straightened up some things and left a note telling Haechan that he went home.
