Gojo hadn't gotten an ounce of sleep, so while on break he went back to his apartment to try and take a nap to make up for the lack of sleep. He couldn't sleep knowing that you were packing your bags, almost leaving. But he made the attempt. And he was trying to convince himself that the rolling sound of the suitcase and your footsteps was a dream because you leaving couldn't be true.

Now he laid back in bed, 18 hours and 23 minutes after you left. Because he had looked at a clock but still tried to convince himself that it was a dream. He tried to shut his eyes, trying to remediate the sleepiness that wouldn't let him focus on anything. Perhaps it wasn't the tiredness but the lovesickness that wouldn't let him do anything.

But he couldn't fall asleep. His mind continuously went to the night Hikari came... How could he have been so dumb? His doubts and hesitation were ultimately what led him to this.

"Hikari, what are you doing here?" Gojo asked, taken back at the fact that your soon-to-be ex-husband was at the front door. Hikari tried to look over Gojo's shoulder, nearly impossible since Gojo had a great height advantage.

"Is she here?" Hikari brushed off the question that had just been asked by Gojo. Gojo just blinked, trying to figure things out. "Please tell me she is, I went through hell and back to get this address."

"What do you need?" Gojo questioned. It wouldn't take too long for you to come back from taking out the trash so the conversation had to be quick. Hikari didn't respond. "Fucking answer."

"I want to get back together with her. We're good for each other, we always have been. I don't know what she has been saying or behaving lately but she'll realize we're good for each other sooner or later. I doubt anyone can make her feel the way I can." Hikari began and any other time Gojo would've laughed but at the moment he felt like anything but laughing. He was actually taking Hikari's words seriously. "Has she not shown any signs that she has missed me?"

"She..." Gojo sighed, not being able to finish the sentence. Gojo nodded.

"In the end it's the best for all of us. For her. For me. For her family. Her family loves me and they're pretty opposed to the idea of divorce so when they find out they'll be pretty mad at her, and who would she have then?" Hikari continued. "It's the best thing to let her go now before you end up hurt."

"Just leave." Gojo said, so close to giving in but refusing to. But then for a moment he thought about how Hikari was filling up your mind during dinner. You could barely eat. "Actually-"

And now Gojo couldn't sleep because of his own foolishness. How could he fall so easily? He could've asked his questions and maybe your answers would've put him at ease. He should've asked about you and about your feelings towards Hikari.

He had lost something that could've been great.

But there had to be a way to fix things, right? There had to be. He hadn't bothered to call or text since you left but he knew that you wouldn't answer either way. But there had to be a way. He would figure it out or else he would dwell in self-pity.

He didn't understand the feelings in his heart but he just knew he found himself smiling at the thought of you. He had never felt so sad as he saw someone leave. He needed to figure out those feelings, and he thought that couldn't be done without you there by his side.

So he grabbed his phone, and unlocked it. He looked for your contact and pressed on it. He thought about pressing the call button, but what good would that do? You were probably working, you had told him a couple of days prior that you had gotten a new case which looked like a lot of work.

Plus he thought about how he'd be the last person you'd want to talk to. After what he did. Setting you up on a date with your ex-husband, and then you come home to see him with another woman. He didn't know why he did it, except that he needed to find comfort after thinking he had lost you. Now that he had officially lost you, he knew that that type of comfort didn't help with anything.

A text message would do. Although he didn't know what to type. He just didn't know what to do to possibly get you back to his side. He had to give it some time, he knew that. But he could try to apologize. Apologizing would do no harm, instead it would help him out. However, he didn't know how to start the apology.

Instead of calling you, he called his best friend. He waited for him to pick up the phone, a couple of rings later, he heard a, "Hello?"

"Hey... I need romantic advice." Gojo said. Geto nearly burst out laughing at this.

"Romantic advice? From me? You and your lady already have problems?" Geto was quick to reply.

"She's not my lady, we weren't dating. But I screwed up really badly and she left, so I want to fix it." Gojo explained. "I don't know who to ask. I just want her back."

"You want her back so badly that you called me for advice? Then you must really be in l-" Geto didn't get to finish the sentence.

"No, it's not that. I'm just..." Gojo couldn't figure it out. He couldn't put it into words.

"Listen, if you don't understand your feelings, figure them out first and then call me for advice." Geto replied before hanging up the phone. Gojo was left to talk to himself, and think.

Maybe he was so quick to interrupt Geto because Geto was onto something. And the more he thought about it, the more scared Gojo was.

Gojo thought wrong. He didn't need you by his side to figure out his feelings.

He was taken back for a minute or so before speaking to himself.

"Holy shit, I'm in love with her."
