Alexi POV:
Alexi was aware of everything after she passed out. She could feel everything, she heard everything she just couldn't move. It was as if she was paralyzed.
She felt three people carry her to what she assumed was the Homestead based off of what she had heard. They took her inside and lied her down on a bed. She wanted to open her eyes and thank them, but she couldn't. She heard the boys talking among themselves. Their words were barely audible and she couldn't make out what they were saying.
She heard a door slam and the room was silent. She just lay there. Should I be feeling something? She asked herself. She could still remember everything that happened. She didn't feel any different.
She lied in the bed for what felt like forever. She heard noises and commotion outside. It was kind of peaceful. She listened to the Gladers working outside, every once in awhile she heard someone come check on her. She may not be able to move, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise. This was the first time she had genuinely relaxed in over a year.
But just like every scenario, good things don't last.
It was a weird feeling, she knew this was it. Her memories were being taken, stored away in a far corner of her brain that she couldn't quite reach. It felt like a vacuum, her memories swirled in her mind, being snatched, one by one. She tried as hard as she could to hold on to some memories. The few happy ones she had. But no matter how hard she tried they all slipped away. The time Newt laughed so hard he shot milk out his nose? Gone. When Newt had told her about his giant crush on Thomas and asked for her advice asking him out? Gone. The time she and Newt got caught raiding the kitchen back at the old WICKED facility? Gone. All the times she had actually been happy. It was all gone. Her bestfriend, the only thing that had given her meaning after....what happened...was gone. It was as if he never existed. Now her mind was just a bunch of empty shelves. But it was as if the shelves all had labels, like she knew what was supposed to be there, but it just wasn't there...
All of the sudden she opened her eyes and shot up in her bed. The boy that had been watching her gasped. He opened the door and yelled someone's name, but she didn't quite hear it. There were a couple memories still swirling around her mind. She needed to write them down.
"Pen...pen, I need a pen now!" she looked around franticly while the boy looked at her just staring at her, puzzled. Then she saw one sitting on the table next to her bed. She snatched it up and started writing something on her forearm.
She wasn't really thinking about what she wrote, she just wrote. She wrote the first thing that came too her mind, which was really only one thing. Once she felt satisfied she took a second and looked at it. Written on her arm were three words, three words that could mean everything or nothing, she already couldn't remember.
He's not immune
That is what she had chosen to write. But why? Who wasn't immune? And what weren't they immune too? It would just have to remain a mystery at this point.
Then it hit her. She had no idea where she was. She just woke up in a random room and there was a random boy just staring at her. She couldn't remember anything but her name. Alexi.
She started to panic. It felt like the walls were closing in on her. Her vision was going black at the edges. It felt like every once of air was being constricted out of her lungs. She couldn't breath. she needed to get outside. Out in the open, before she was crushed by the closing walls. She started towards the door when the boy grabbed her arm. And sat her back down on the bed, a firm grip on her wrist.
"Let me go!" Alexi gasped. Ripping at the collar of her shirt, trying to let air back in to her lungs. Was this what a panic attack was? wait...what's a panic attack? It was like the knowledge was there, but it wasn't. Like she remembered remembering what it was. AARRGH!! This was to frustrating!!!!
