A/N: I am going to post this chapter and pretend i haven't been completely inactive for 6 months.

  Alexis pov:

As Alexi slept, she had horrible nightmares. She dreamt of a lady with shoulder length blonde hair, she looked older. She dreamt of white rooms, many of them. They were bright with lights. Then she was in a room full of tech, her gaze was fixated on a screen. She could see there was people on the screen, but she couldn't tell who. The whole dream was like she was seeing it through a glass of water, it was all distorted and unclear.

She woke up covered in cold sweat. She felt like she was still partially in the dream. She almost felt like she had the day before when she was having a panic attack. Everything was distorting, she couldn't see clearly.

She got off the bed, almost loosing her balance. She could make out the vague image of her jacket that she had thrown at the end of Thomas' bed, but she didn't grab it. It was humid, so she didn't really need it. What she needed was to get out. She started for the door. She opened it up and started her way towards the rickety stairs of the Homestead.

She got to the door and ran outside. It was still dark, but she could make out the faintest hint of grey starting to fill the sky. She ran to the look out tower that Thomas took her too yesterday. By this time her vision was clearing and she was less panicked.

She climbed the tower and look out over the edge. She could see the sun starting to peek above the walls. It was absolutely beautiful. The sun hit the Glade perfectly as it rose. It glazed the trees of deadheads with the light, casting almost eerie shadows across the grass.

She didn't know how long she stayed there, but she just stood there and watched the sun rise up above the walls. She would have stayed longer, but she heard a panicked voice yelling her name.

Thomas pov:

Thomas, Newt, Minho, Frypan, Winston, and Zart had all fallen asleep around the dying fire the night before. Thomas woke up and looked at his watch. It was around 5:30 in the morning. The sun was coming up and the doors would be opening in about an hour.

He wanted to show Alexi the window, the one that showed the inside of the maze. He wanted to show her the reason for their most important rule.

He got up and started to make his way to the Homestead. He went in the door and went up to his room. He opened the door and was shocked to find that Alexi wasn't there. Her jacket lay at the end of the bed.

Thomas started to panic. There was no telling what these boys would do to her, especially Gally. He ran out of the room and started checking the other rooms. Empty. He ran to the Gladers sleeping area. Everybody was accounted for. The doors also hadn't opened yet, so that took a little stress away. But still, Thomas couldn't find Alexi anywhere. He ran outside and started towards the woods, calling for her and probably waking up the Gladers.

He ended up running past the lookout tower when he heard a yell from the top of it.

"Thomas! I'm up here."

Thomas stopped and started climbing the tower. When he got to the top he found Alexi leaning on the railing and looking out over the Glade.

"Alexi, what the hell are you doing up here? I probably just  woke up everyone looking for you."  Thomas said while catching his breath a little.

"I heard. I was having nightmares, I just needed to get out of there for a bit." She said, turning to look at Thomas.

"How long have you been up here?" He asked, noticing the dark circles underneath Alexi's eyes.

"No clue, I was able to watch the sunrise though." She said, looking back to the sun that was making its way over the wall.

Thomas had always loved the sunrises at the Glade, which was funny because Newt had always preferred sunsets. They really had an opposites attract thing going on. Thomas liked sunrises while Newt liked sunsets, Thomas acted more on impulse and emotion where as Newt acted on logic, Thomas had always been the more joking, light hearted one and Newt tried to be more serious and professional.

"I was actually looking for you cause I wanted to show you something. Then Fry will have breakfast ready soon. " Thomas said

"Alright" is all Alexi said before she followed Thomas down the ladder.

Alexi POV:

Thomas took Alexi to one of the four Glade walls. There was a window in it that she hadn't noticed before.

"I wanted to show you this. The reason we have the rule about not going out in the maze."

"the Grievers?"

Just as she said it she heard something hit the glass behind them, startling both her and Thomas.

"Holy shit!" she yelled scrambling away from the window.

it was, well, it was what Thomas described to her. A bio-mechanical, gooy, slimy, spider-scorpion thing. It continued to slime the glass that it was up against.

"How do you know that they won't climb the walls?" She questioned

"We don't really, they just never have." Thomas answered, suddenly making the walls not seem like not such a good place to be next to.

Alexi then caught a whiff of bacon and eggs coming from the kitchens.

"Is that breakfast? I'm starving!" Alexi exclaimed

Thomas laughed a little and gestured for them to head down to breakfast.

Once they had gotten food and were on their way to a table they heard newt call out to Thomas. Saying he needed to talk to him. Thomas apologized and ran off to go sit with Newt.

She had decided the day prior that the runners were all really nice, so since she knew all of them, she went and asked to sit with them.

'Hey Lex!" One of them called out, she was pretty sure his name was Isaac.

"Hi! Thomas kinds ditched me, can i sit with you guys?"

They all nodded.

"Ok, so, you are Isaac, Ethan, Derek, Scott, Liam, and Jackson?" gesturing to each as she said their name, confirming that she had remembered correctly.

They all nodded and smiled at her as she sat down.

She had no idea that the next thing that she said would send the rest of her life here cascading chaos. She had sworn she had been introduced to him the night before, but she didn't see him here. The three simple words made ever one of the runners go pale as a ghost.

"Wait, where's Ben?"
