A/n: I present to you, the long awaited chapter 4!!! Enjoy!!!

Alexi POV:

Thomas gave her the tour. He showed her the deadheads, which was the forest, the homestead, which was the building she had been in, and he pointed out the fields, animal pens and the blood house. He explained to her how the box brought up new supplies every week and a new greenie every month.

Once he had showed her everything he took her to what he said was one of his favorite places in the Glade. It was a little look out tower that she honestly didn't quite trust not to blow down with a small breeze. Thomas started to climb up to the top but she remained at the bottom.

"Come on, I do this all the time! Its perfectly safe!" He yelled from the top of the ladder.

"You know, based on what you have told me about yourself, I really don't trust your definition of 'safe'." She retorted as she started to climb.

Thomas had also told her about the maze that lie beyond the walls. How he had gotten stuck in the maze over night trying to save the Glades previous leader and the keeper of the runners, the runners were the people who went out into the maze everyday to map it and look for a way out. She had learned about all of the other jobs as well. Builders, slicers, track-hoes, med-jacks, baggers, and sloppers. At least those were the ones she remembered.

"So, do you have any questions?" Thomas asked as she leaned on the railing next to him.

She had hundreds of questions, but she figured most would be answered with time so she picked the most prominent ones.

"Yeah, you said that you were the Greenie before me. So, that means you have only been here a month. So how are you already second-in command?" Alexi asked him.

"That's kind of complicated. So you remember the Grievers I told you about?" He asked her.

Ah yes, the menacing, bio-mechanical, scorpion-spiders, as Thomas put it, that roamed the maze at night after the doors closed. How could she forget?

She nodded and Thomas continued.

"And you know how when they sting you, you go through that "changing" and get some of your memories back?" Alexi nodded again. What was he getting too?

"Well, on my first few days as a runner, I got separated from my friend, Minho, the keeper who had been training me. There happened to be a Griever and I got stung." He said, his voice had lost its typical confidence and his eyes for just a moment lost their sarcastic glint.

"So, you remembered some things, from before, and they figured that put you in a good position to lead?" Alexi asked. It was Thomas' turn to nod.

"You know what, this is getting depressing. Do you guys have any food I could eat? I'm starving." Alexi stated.

Thomas looked up at her with a smile on his face, the gleam back in his eyes.

"Yeah, we should actually start heading over to dinner now." Thomas said as he started heading back towards the ladder.

"Oh, and Alexi," Thomas started, looking back up at her.

"If you have any questions come to me. People don't here don't really like to tell you thing until it is a life or death situation. And I had to learn stuff about everything the hard way. And between you and me, I already told you like twice as much as I am supposed to." He ended the last part with a small laugh and a wink.

Alexi laughed and but then turned back around and looked back over the Glade.

"You coming or what?" Thomas yelled from the bottom.
