Dromus Betrayed

~Elina's POV~

One... Two... Three... Four... NOW!

I opened my eyes and started fighting Vanetta at Quarton. It was night time and no one, not the TKs, Beag, not even Vilius and his men are here. Just me and Vanetta.

"You can't beat me Syrenica!"

"We'll see about that Vanetta!"

We kept batteling. I use my katana and my shuriken-like shield (Like Lydendor's only hers is silver with purple edges).

"Sonic Blade!" I send a blast with my katana and Vanetta retreated.

"I'll get you one day! Even if it is only training."

"Don't push it."

Then she left. I took a moment to catch my breath and look at my armour.

I'm wearing a purple armour with features of a saber-tooth tiger. It also has silver outlinings and golden colored orbs that decorated it.

I sighed and looked up. "I know your there, Dromus."

"About time." Dromus went out from the shadows.

"So what's the next plan?"

"We look for the Black Dragon Key of course."

"Yeah. And how exactly?"

"I'll leave that job to Vanetta and the Knights." He started walking away, but the stops. "By the way, the insider has a better chance of getting out than the outsider. Do you understand?"

"Of course. I'll see you soon."

"Sure hope so."

"And to think that yesterday, you didn't want me around."

"Things change faster than it stays." Then we both took our own paths.

I went back home and layed down on my bed. Beside it, i looked at a picture with me and Gen in it.

What made you change so much? I thought. For now, i'll go with Dromus' plan and fight on the Knights' side. After that, you better give me an explanation Gen. Otherwise... I won't have a choise.

The next day, we are summoned and we went to Quarton. There, as we were fighting the Corrupted, we saw Dromus trying to eliminate Vanetta.

Bravenwolf got in his way and we saved Vanetta. We went back to the "Junk Shop" as Toxsa called it, and saw Beni out side. We saw her core brick and took her inside. Then, she explained that she is Vanetta and also about Dromus' plans.

The guys were wise to not trust her on this. Knowing the plan, i know what was going to happen.

Beni told us that she knows how to find the Black Dragon Key (BDK) and she told us how. We split up to our side of town and held our core bricks up. Soon they glowed and we found out that it led to the tower.

380 stories high. 1 Dragon Key. No wonder Gen wants us to do the dirty work. I thought annoyed. I look over at Beni and she smiled.

"Why are you looking at me that way Elina?"

"... Nothing. I was just wondering."

"About what?"

"It's personal."

We head up the tower, because that's where the core bricks pointed to go to. Soon, there was a blackout and the elevator stopped working, so we took the stairs. At the top floor, we still can't find it so we went to the roof. There we saw a ceal in which the five of us broke.

Just before we decided to vaporize it, Gen showed up and revealed that he is Dromus. No surprise there, obviously. He managed to get the key and right before they escaped, Gen revealed that Beni was still on his side and they disappeared along with a guardian.

"We're too late." Said Guren.

"This is bad." Said Chooki.

"You really think so do you?" Asked Ceylan sarcastically.

"And soon they'll strike Quarton and Earth." I said. He better give me a reasonable explaination soon!

We went back to our own homes. I stayed up late that night, wondering how things would work out the next day.

"You don't have to wait for long."

"Ever heard of knocking Gen? Instead of trying to come in through the window, i would have just opened the front door for you."

"Hm maybe. I still feel that hessitation from you."

"I told you. Forget about it. I just..." For some reason i couldn't bring out the words from my mouth.

"You just what?"

"... Nothing. Nevermind. But Vilius isn't gonna be happy with your betrayal against him."

"This would soon be worth everything."

"Would it?"

"Hm, see. There's that hessitation again. Trust me, both worlds will soon be ours Elina."

I flinched. His voice was so cold that i could actually feel it. The world isn't what i want! I just want you and Vanetta to go back to your senses!

Then he left without saying a word. "Gen, this isn't you anymore..."
