The Fifteenth Letter

Dear Chen,

I want to be a photographer.

You’re laughing now, aren’t you? It is one of the most uncertain jobs one can take, but what can I do?

I absolutely love the clicking of the camera and the final product.

That way, I can capture reality for what it truly is.

Dear Yoojin,

Why would I laugh? I respect your wishes. In fact, I rather like your dream of taking up photography.

But your parents do not want you to have an unstable job, is that right?

Well, I whole-heartedly believe that you should follow through with your dream.

You do not have to follow all of your parent’s wishes, but beware not to completely ignore their advice.

Do you want me to go to you so that I can convince them myself?
