Azriel’s arm wrapped around her shoulders, his fingers tracing circles over her arm, and she just smiled with her eyes closed.
“You feel really warm right now.” He told her quietly, and she opened her eyes to find him looking at her curiously.
“I feel fine.” Which was only a slight lie. She felt amazing, like some piece of her had finally clicked into place.
She looked up at the sky, and the stars that were beginning to appear against the deep blue expanse, and Azriel shifted slightly, his knee brushing against hers.
“That jerky is really stale.” He sighed, and she pulled away, looking at him with her brows raised, and his wings rustled against the blanket they sat on as he reached for the bag.
She began to get an overwhelming urge to kiss him, even it was only to get him to stop saying another male's name.
“I’ll have to get Rhys to buy more-” He was interrupted as Inei leaned towards him, placing her mouth over his.
She gently pulled away, and Azriel searched her face for something.
“I love you Az, but I really don’t want to talk about Rhysand right now.”
He made a small incredulous noise, and this time he brought his hand up to her neck, pulling her in for another kiss.
His scars pushed against her skin as she tilted her head back, and she could have sworn she felt the corners of his mouth lift in response.
What started as soft and sweet slowly became more intense and determined, and as Azriel asked her for silent permission.
She said yes.
His tongue slipped inside of her mouth, careful and dominating, and while she could have cried with how gently he treated her, she didn’t want gentle kisses right now.
She pulled her mouth away for a second, and she saw the wild look in his golden eyes that told her everything she needed to know.
She moved into his lap, straddling his hips as she leaned forwards once more, their lips pressing against each other fervently. Her hands came up around his neck, one of them burying itself in his soft hair, and she moaned quietly as his own came to rest on her hips, gripping them to hold her still.
She felt like she was on fire, every touch and sensation leaving heat in its wake, and she knew that she didn’t want to be held still.
She squirmed against his hands, which only tightened in response.
Azriel tilted away, pausing the kiss as his teeth lightly scraped over her bottom lip.
“I swear on whatever gods are left Inei,” He growled softly, and she stopped her movements.
“That I cannot promise what will happen if you keep doing that.”
She bit her cheek, looking down at where their laps met, and she quickly looked back up as she noticed what he meant.
His eyes glimmered though, and she didn’t even wait before pressing her lips to his jaw, and then to his neck.
“Whatever happens Azriel, I trust you.”
----
Azriel’s last bit of self control completely snapped as she spoke, and she yelped in surprise as he grabbed her by the waist, laying her on her back.
She smiled, the most beautiful thing he had seen all day, and he didn’t hesitate before he claimed her mouth with his, pressing his body down against hers, every curve and edge fitting like they had been molded for each other.
