Warning... you have been warned

Colonial America -

"So?" Virginia asked, "What happened next?"
I laughed, "You all are more interested in this than I expected,"
"Just tell the story," Georgia said as she played around with the fabric of her dress.
"Yeah, I want to know how you met him and ended up with his journal," Massachusetts stated.
I smiled, then continued the story...

Roanoke - 1587

It had been a few days since my arrival, I learnt the name of the man that was with the woman was named Henry Wander. He is a nice man, and has been teaching me how to hunt. Mrs. Abigail has taken charge in educating me, I've learnt much from her, including the English alphabet. I would join Will, Nat, and Ethan outside and play in the dirt roads with them. Every now a wagon would go through, but not often. There weren't many people that lived here, in fact it was a rather small place, probably why they referred to it more as a fort. A few months ago an expedition set out to explore around and outside the colony. I wanted to go with them, but I decided to stay due to hope that my father would arrive. As it turned out, the letter that Mrs. Abigail had written was sent to who she predicted to be my father. I was excited and happy to get to meet him, I could only hope she was right.

I was sitting along the porch-side of the house. I was waiting for Mr. Wander to come home from a hunting trip. I wanted to go along but Mrs. Abigail had convinced Mr. Wander to let me stay, not wanting me to come home hurt. I appreciated her concern, but I knew I could take care of myself, and wished she'd realize that as well.

Time passed quickly, as the sun soon began to set. I heard something in the bushes. I looked over, but nothing was there. I slowly got up and walked over, cautiously I approached the bush. I looked at it warily before reaching in and finding...

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing. I let out a sigh of relief. My relief, however, soon left as something, or someone, jumped out of the bushes a few feet away. I jumped at the sudden sound and fell into the bush I was looking at. I fell in and as soon as I reached the ground, the sound of screaming emerged. I shot up and ran over, only to find a group of natives destroying the fortress. I watched as they tore it all apart. Will, Nat, Ethan, and Mrs. Abigail came running over to me, bags in hand. They ran towards me, once they reached my spot Ethan grabbed my wrist and all of them ran off, dragging me behind them.
"What's going on?" A familiar voice called out from behind.
"The natives are attacking the fort!" Mrs. Abigail exclaimed.
Mr. Wander furrowed his eyebrows as he ran over to us, his musket now cocked and loaded.

We stayed out in the woods for awhile, Mr.Wander stayed on guard. Night soon fell and we all gathered around a fire. Will and Nat cuddled next to their mother while I sat by the fire next to Ethan. I stared at the bright, warm flames that seemed to lick at the cold night sky. I don't know for how long we were stuck there, we dared not go back. It wouldn't make much difference to us anyways. The fort was probably completely destroyed at this point.

Days passed, though they felt like centuries each day. We tried to find ways to help, but we couldn't really do much. Nat and I were the only two boys that actually knew how to hunt properly, Ethan and Will were the more knowledgeable of all of us. Soon though, Ethan came with news of a ship he spotted a short way from the shore. We all brightened at the news and went back to where the settlement once stood.

We were right. The fort was completely trashed. We searched around the wreckage and soon a group of people showed up around the entrance. Among these people, I found that one in particular stood out the most. It was a man, finely dressed in a fancy red and gold outfit. He had a gold crown resting on his head, and his face bore a Union Jack. He looked around the town in total shock until his eyes landed on me. His expression calmed slightly as he made his way over.

Mrs. Abigail and Mr. Wander were the first to notice his presence and bowed before him.
"Great Britain," I heard Will say in a shocked-like awe.
"I assume you are Roanoke?" The tall man I assumed to be Great Britain said.
I nodded and he extended his hand to me, a kind expression on his face.
I hesitated to take his hand and looked towards Mr. and Mrs. Wander, who both nodded in approval. With that I took his hand and he led me off.

"Where are we going?" I asked.
"England, I want you to see my home," Britain explained.
"But- but, I can't leave yet, not when these people need me!" I protested.
He let go and turned to face me, his face held a look of understanding as he knelt to my eye level.
"Are you sure you don't want to leave?"
"Y-yes," I stated.
Britain smiled, "Come visit me in England soon then, I'd like to get to know my new son,"
I smiled, happy to be allowed to stay and help.
"Thank you," I said as I hugged him, he hugged back.
I soon left back to the Wander family to help them and some of the other colonists rebuild the fort.

A month later

A lot has happened this past month. A group of Croatoan Indians are accused of killing 15 men and the colonists decided to attack Dasamonquepeuc. On a brighter note, the first child born of English parents was born; they named her "Virginia".

I was walking towards the bay where ships awaited. I had talked with Governor White about joining the trip to England. I had already said my goodbyes to the Wanders and was now waiting for the trip to England to begin. I wasn't looking forward to the long trip, I had heard just how long it'd been from Great Britain when he had came. That was the part I dreaded most, but I pushed it to the side as it became overcome by excitement to get to know my father.

A few weeks later

I finally reach England and my excitement only rises from there. I go around asking for directions to where I could find Great Britain. I found many people just laughed at me whenever I asked, but soon I found a young man who looked similar to Great Britain. He didn't wear a crown or fur-lined cape, but his suit was the same, just in a royal blue color. His face bore a red cross on it with a white background.

"So, you want to know where you can find Great Britain, huh?" The stranger asked, "Well then, follow me and I'll take you to him,"
