אוקומורה רין, אשר גדל עם הכומר פוג'ימוטו, מגרש שדים מפורסם, מעולם לא ידע מי הוא אביו האמיתי. יום אחד, וויכוח גורלי עם הכומר פוג'ימוטו הביא את רין להיוודא לאמת הנוראית - הדם של אדון השדים, שטן, זורם בעורקיו של רין! שטן באותו זמן הריב הצליח להשתלט על פוג'ימוטו וגרם לו להרוג את עצמו ורין אפילו לא הספיק לעשות כלום ורק הספיק לשמוע מאביו המאמץ שהוא אוהב אותו. רין נשבע להביס את שטן, אבל לעשות את זה משמעו להיכנס לאקדמיה המסתורית "הצלב האמיתי" ולהפוך למגרש שדים בעצמו. האם רין יכול להילחם בשדים ולשמור את השושלת השטנית שלו בסוד? זה לא יהיה קל, במיוחד כשלשלוף את חרב אביו שהיא כוחו משחררת גם את ההילה השדית הכחולה שלו !
