בזמן תנומה קצרה במסדרון צדדי ושקט בגימנסיה, מאפויו סאטו נתקל במקרה בריטסוקה אונויאמה, תלמיד נוסף באותה הגימנסיה שגוער בו על התחזוקה הגרועה של הגיטרה שלו. מאפויו סאטו מתחנן בפני ריטסוקה אונויאמה שיעזור לו ללמוד לנגן. ריטסוקה מביא את מאפיו ללהקת הבנים בה הוא חבר, ובהמשך מתגלה שלסאטו יש קול יפה וטהור. בסופו של דבר סאטו הופך לזמר של הלהקה ואונויאמה גם פותר בדרך את התעלומה מדוע ואיך סאטו הפך לבעליה של הגיטרה שברשותו..
