יונומי קובני, ילדה רגילה, מגלה ביום הולדתה ה-16 שהיא מאורסת למיצומין האקויה, ילד בגילה. האקויה עובר לגור מכפר ומתחיל לגור איתה ועם משפחתה, ומביא איתו את אחותו הצעירה שעדיין בגיל תלמידת בית ספר יסודי. כמו כן אחותה הגדולה של קובני והיא מבוגרת ממנה בשנתיים אובססיבית במקצת לגבי אחיות קטנות, ואמא שלה-לא רואים אותה הרבה. הסיפור סובב סביב ארבעת האנשים הללו וזהותם הסודיות של האקויה ואחותו הקטנה(-אני הכי אוהבת אותה).
