Chapter 5 Sam (back to right after they talked to the king)

There was so much running through my mind now. My parents are famous but they are dead. They think Dabria is some sort of chosen one, and I have powers like my parents. The girl, I am guessing is Charlotte, was a girl with wavy light brown hair with hazel eyes. She must have noticed my mind was racing. "You don't have to worry, this is crazy, but it will get easier, especially when you find your power," she said in a pleasant voice, and suddenly, my mind was relaxing. "Don't use your charm speaking on him. Remember what the king said," said the other kid named Leo. Leo was a boy with brown hair and emerald green eyes. "What do you mean charm speaking" I asked, still a little unaware of what was going on. Leo did not answer, so Charlotte stepped in and said "That is my power I can mess with your mind just by talking to you and if I am powerful enough, I can make you do what I want" she said with a big grin across her face. "But the king told us not to use our powers unless we are instructed too," says Leo in a low voice, as if he did not want to say anything but knew he had to.

We walk into a room with so many people with water powers. Some were moving the water from bin to bin, and others were shooting water at dummies. "Hey, can we get a helper over here? We are trying to find his power," she shouted like she owned the place. "Yes, Charlotte," said a guy with a very squeaky voice. It was so high I could feel my ears already aching, but I made sure I said nothing or show it, so they did not think I was weak. While he was coming over here, he tripped over something or someone tripped him. Everyone started laughing, which reminded me of myself in kindergarten before I met Dabria, I try not to show it but without Dabria I would be a mess. When the guy gets over here he says "Let's try something easy, move that water to this bin, make sure you concentrate" he says smiling. I look at the water and then the other bin then nod, I tried multiple times but I just could not do it which was very frustrating, considering almost everyone was looking over at me. "Ok, next class, let's try charm speaking" Charlotte says looking at Leo as if he was going to object, and even though I have only known him for a few minutes I still know that he was not going to even if he wanted to. We get to charm speaking and all the guys that were there smiled and said hi, I quickly figured out that there were no males in this class they were all there dummy's, one girl told me that there has not been a male charm speaker in centuries, so if I was one I would probably become famous. Charlotte showed me how to do it which was not hard because she just talked and all the sudden a boy called her the prettiest girl in the world. I concentrated and tried many times but every time the girl that I was doing it on said you arn't the best looking dude, which told me that this was definitely not my power, which I was kind of okay with. "Well then fire class is next" said Charlotte, she waved bye to the guys and we left. As soon as I walk in some guy came right up to me and said "you are part of the team right, you are Dabria's friend right". "Yes, I am Dabria's friend, why what did she do?" I ask a little nervous to find out. "Oh she only stood up for herself when Cody was talking to her, and she also embarrassed, our second best student here" says the guy smiling. That sounds like Dabria, she is always standing up for herself if she seemed it was right, she does not seem like the person to but you really do not want to get on the wrong side of a battle with her if she truly believes in it. That is actually how we meet she stood up for me when I was in first grade, and we have been friends ever since, when people look at us they all of the sudden assume I'm the one you don't want to get me angry but anyone who's been in an argument with Dabria they would know that it is the other way around. "That sounds like Dabria, so I take it fire is her power" I say. "No, but she would be scarier if it was" said the guy. "Yes, she would" I say smiling, it looks like the guy was going to say something else but Charlotte interrupted and said "Alright enough chit chat and more learning" she looked kind of annoyed. They do not argue and it seemed that she used a little charm speaking in that but did not mean to because she looked a little embarrassed. They show me how to do it, but I fail at this too after many tries, I kind of wished that was my power because I kind of liked these guys the were nice unlike the people with water powers, but they might only be being nice because they know that I am friends with Dabria, but either way I had fun there. "Alright, next is shapeshifting your spot of experience Leo" says Charlotte, I almost forgot he was here because he was so quiet, for some reason I got a feeling that him and Dabria would get along, they seem to have the same mind set even if he does not speak it you can see it.

Once we got there I knew this was not my power, but I watched Leo demonstrate then tried three times, and like I expected I failed badly every time. "Alrighty two more than we are done, so talking to animals is next. Why don't you just turn into an animal and let him try Leo" says Charlotte smiling. She seemed so happy to almost be done with this. Leo rolled his eyes and said "fine, but let's go outside" I don't know why he wanted to go outside, maybe because it felt nicer out there, I don't know. We get outside and Leo turns into a wolf, and starts barking but I can't understand him. "What is he saying?" Charlotte asks trying to get this over with because she did not really sound interested at all, but before I could answer the king came over and said "there were complaints about a barking dog" said the king tried like. "Ohh sorry sir, Leo is seeing if Sam can understand dog or any animals for a matter of fact, we were just about to find out, Sam did you understand him" Charlotte said like she actually cared. I shrug and say "no". "So that leaves wind left for you Sam, so that is what you must be," Charlotte says caringly. "Well go try it, I have just got word that the pipes exploded, Leo I would stay here" says the king tiredly. Leo turns back into his regular form and nods. "Ok, lets go to wind" says Charlotte excitedly, but as soon as the king left she frowned.

Once we got there I felt the wind. I just felt I was at home, even though it was almost never windy in the forest. As soon as they showed it to me I picked it up right away it was like I have been doing this for years.
