Chapter 10 Dabria

As soon as we got far enough in the woods that we could not see or hear the king, I let Sam go. "Alright, everyone let's look through our bags and see if there is anything useful," I say. We all go through our bags. I had granola bars, two containers of water, a filter for the water, a small blanket, a map, and six knives. Why did he give me knives? "Cody, did you get any knives?" I ask. "No, just the one I brought with me, why" Cody says. "Because I got some, here take them. He must have put them in the wrong bag," I say, handing them to him. He looks at me weirdly but takes them. Why is he always looking weirdly at me? Maybe that is just his thinking face. I look at Sam, who just opens his little bag. I gotta say it was hard for me not to laugh before, but I know Sam would hate me if I did. "I got a granola bar and chapstick, Seriously" Sam says, then mutters something I could not hear. "But you got the tents, that's important," says Charlotte. I look at her gratefully for saying something encouraging. "Right," I say. Cody was smiling like crazy, trying to stop himself from laughing. I give him a dirty look, then look at Leo.

"Leo, what do you get?" I ask. "A container of water, some bandages and a little first aid kit, and a small blanket." says Leo in his usual soft voice. I smile at him and nod, then look at Charlotte. "Okay, what about you, Charlotte?" I ask. "Umm, just a book on what plants are good or not, a little container thing to cook in, a small blanket, and a container of water." Says Charlotte while she examines the items she got, and flipped through the book. "What about you Cody?" I ask, he just finishes going through his bag. "I got a container of water, a small blanket, a map of course, a line of wire and string, some sunscreen, and bug spray, and some arrows which I am guessing are yours. What you get." says Cody , he handed me the arrows. "I got two water containers, a filter for water, a map like the king said, some granola bars, and a small blanket" I say, I look at Sam's face and see his disappointment, then look at my second water container. "I am guessing the other container of water is yours Sam" I say, Sam smiles and takes the water bottle when I hand it to him.

"Okay, let's check the map for an idea where to go" says Cody, he points to a spot on the map and says "follow me." We follow Cody for what feels like miles and I started to think how nice Charlotte was to me when she was picking out my cloths. She could have easily just put me in a clown costume or something, so I decided to go over and thank her. "Hey Charlotte, I just wanted to say thank you for picking an awesome outfit out for me. You really are good with fashion" I say. "Ooh no problem, and look about what I said earlier about you and Cody, I am sorry I was just frustrated. This morning I did not know I was going on this mission, until we got a call that you were here and that they needed me" says Charlotte, I don't know if she was telling the truth but I still feel bad for her, even if it was because of her Charm speaking. "Look I get what you mean I did not know I was going to come here until I got kidnapped and dragged here. Which I can not complain about." I say. "If you could you would not stay home with your family" says Charlotte. "Nah, she barely knows I am there anyway" I say smiling, she frowns. "Hey, cheer up you get to go on an amazing adventure with people who seem to hate each other" I say still smiling, she laughed.
