Marikuu slowly walked through the school's hallway, feeling many eyes upon him.
Damn, I was only out for a day. Didn't know you guys loved me this much. He thought to himself.
Marikuu looked to the side, unintentionally death staring the students staring. As a result, they quickly became frightened and looked away, pretending to unlock their lockers and such. Marikuu gave an evil smile, and continued walking.
Among those many students, there was one particular guy. A boy with long white hair and chocolate eyes.
A boy named Ryou.
He pushed through the small wave of students in front of him (frantically apologizing afterwards), speed-walking to his friend. Marikuu was at his locker already, unlocking it and stuffing his bag inside.
Ryou had finally reached him, and when he had tapped Marikuu on the shoulder to see his face,
His heart froze.
Marikuu looked pained.
His lavender eyes were darker than usual, more tired than usual, there was a humongous slap-mark on his face;
He looked miserable. And it hurt Ryou.
"Marikuu?"
Marikuu looked back to the inside of his locker. His locker was pretty bland, other than the torn up and dusty Egyptian books underneath all of his items and the spray painting of a bright red pentagram that you could only see if you took his bag out. He had no photos or magnets, except for this one necklace that was taped to the inside of his locker door that was gold. It hung a pretty emerald stone that was carved into the initials of something. Ryou, along with the others who have seen Marikuu's locker, assumed that the initial was Egyptian.
Marikuu gave a tired sigh, and smirked, trying to keep his usual villainous persona. "The one and only."
Ryou frowned. Without thinking, he reached for the (possibly) painful mark on Marikuu's face. "What happened?"
At that moment, Marikuu looked back to Ryou's face. And they stared, noticing how much more blush started to appear on each other's faces at the sudden hand movement. Ryou's hand was soft. Gentle.
Something Marikuu never knew, and was never used to. As a matter of fact, it took everything in the poor boy to not snuggle his face into the hand.
Ryou realized, and pulled his hand away. For a moment, Marikuu was saddened by the sudden loss of touch, but he shook it off. "Apologies. It just.. looks like it really hurts. Are you okay? What happened?" Ryou asked once more. Marikuu looked back on the events of yesterday.
The yelling.
The hitting.
The loss of sleep.
The thinking.
Marikuu frowned before answering. "Things. Family things, thinking things."
Ryou still looked at his friend in concern. "You should get a bandage for that, I can't imagine how much it must hurt."
"Used to it. The Ishtar household isn't very kind, Fluffbutt."
"Well, you should still treat it. You shouldn't just leave it out in the open. When I touched it, I noticed you flinch a bit."
Marikuu stopped what he was doing, soft unusual blush appearing on his features.
He.. pays attention that hard? He notices things like that?
"Marikuu?"
Marikuu sighed and continued his process. "Alright. Only because you're that worried." Ryou gave a soft and relieved smile.
"I have a first-aid kit in my locker. I can go run and get it, to spare you the trouble of having to run to the nurses office."
Marikuu took a glimpse of the necklace on his door. He looked back to what he was doing, and nodded.
"Sure. Thanks, Fluff."
;;
Ryou shortly returned, with the said first-aid kit in hand. "Alright, hold still." Marikuu slammed his locker door shut, and looked over at his fluffy acquaintance.
Ryou pulled out a box of bandages, along with some creams, and sat himself and Marikuu down. He popped one of the cream containers lid off, one that read "Vitamin K Cream", and dipped two fingers into it. He looked up at the huge mark on Marikuu's face before slowly and softly applying the cream to it. Marikuu felt tingly at the touch, and he knew he was blushing at least a little. Ryou had a hair tie in his mouth.
"So, we both know well enough you need to tell me the details. This mark is huge, Marikuu."
Marikuu's bubbly feeling had faded, and he frowned. "Why? My father slapped me, that's all." Ryou's eyes widened.
"What? Why? Why did he hit you this hard?" Ryou continued to smoothen out the cream all over the mark, and dipped his fingers to get more.
Marikuu sighed shakily. Another new thing, another new thing about himself he hated. "He found out about me sneaking out to see you, and he misinterpreted our relationship. He thinks I'm gay, so he slapped me."
Ryou grew horrified and concerned with each word. "Marikuu.." he trailed off. He looked at the hand with no cream on any of the fingers, and he used it to rub one of Marikuu's hands on his lap.
"That's terrible. I'm sorry that all happened. That must be why you look so tired, huh.." Ryou mumbled the last part, but Marikuu still heard all of it.
And it still made him feel like he could fly.
Ryou's hand slowly trailed off his hand after a while, as he began to wipe off the remains of the used cream on his other hand on his pants. Before opening the lid to another cream container - this time, it read "Vitamin C" - Ryou tied his hair into a ponytail with the hair tie in his mouth. This time, all his attention was on Marikuu's face afterwards, dipping his two fingers into the cream without even taking a glance at it. He stuck the tip of his tongue out in playful concentration, (which Marikuu softly chuckled at) rubbing the cream on the mark. However, Ryou didn't put as much as this cream on the mark as the other, so it didn't take that long until he stopped.
Marikuu made a fake annoyed sound. "Are we all done with the creams?"
"Yes, actually. Are you shocked?"
Marikuu smiled. "I was joking, but sure. If it makes you happier Cottontail."
Ryou rolled his eyes, before grabbing the little box of bandages from his side and scooching back up to Marikuu. "Alright, actually hold still this time." he said with a small laugh at the end of his sentence. Marikuu followed.
Ryou gently pulled a large sized bandaid, and placed it over the mark before ripping the paper off. It was big enough. He pulled the paper off, and placed it onto the mark on Marikuu's face gently and slowly. He softly rubbed the newly put bandaid, making sure it was sealed perfectly and nicely. Marikuu blushed, and smiled a little more.
Ryou was a liar if he said he wasn't blushing as well.
"There we go. Those creams help slap marks, and the bandage will stick all the creams to the mark and make sure it heals." Ryou said all of this perfectly calm while stuffing all of the items he took out back into the kit. Marikuu graced his hand over the bandage.
"Hey! Don't mess with it. I see you."
Marikuu smirked, and began fidgeting with it. Ryou frowned, but slowly began to smile but looked away trying to hide it. Marikuu laughed at this.
"You found it funny. Don't even deny it; I'm funny."
"Okay, sure, yes, you're funny. Very funny."
Marikuu slightly blushed again for the possible 15th time that morning. He shook it off.
Fuck, what is my problem? I promised myself I would stop feeling this way just yesterday.
Marikuu looked over at the man responsible for these crimes.
Ryou was wearing a white and dark blue striped shirt with a baby blue colored hoodie, with baggy black jeans. One of the hoodie pockets had a piece of paper nicely folded into it, which Marikuu was curious about but shrugged it off. Ryou's shoes were the same ones he wore everyday, the base was a generic blue while the shoe laces and bottoms were white. His white hair looked as fluffy as it always did, his sudden ponytail making it all even prettier and fluffier. He was wearing two necklaces, the larger one was his Millenium Ring, an heirloom both him and his brother got when they were small from their mother, and the small one being a generic silver chained necklace with a key hanging off it. A fake one, too small to actually be able to unlock something.
Why are you so hard to get over? To leave? You're too hard.
Marikuu didn't realize how long he'd actually been staring and observing the British boy before Ryou spoke up.
"You alright? I didn't think how I looked today would really tickle at you." he said with a nervous smile.
Marikuu shook his head, but before he had the chance to make up a fake excuse,
The bell had rang. School had begun.

Heyyyy!!
Ma had finally given me a chance on my computer today/tonight (finishing this up at almost 8 AM with no sleep slept lol), however, I most likely won't get another chance on here for another hot minute, sadly.
Everything I explained on my wall is still going on, and it's still problematic. I've gotten my phone back somehow, but my parents refuse to give my computer back? I'm unsure.
Personal stuff aside, I'm sorry this chapter seems filler, I meant to write more but I felt like writing a simple chapter just about these two lovebirds and Marikuu realizing how actually hard it's gonna be for him to push Ryou away romantically. I also couldn't think of anything else after the whole "let me give you a bandage for your slap mark" scene lmao
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed. Can't promise it, but the spicy stuff'll come in soon, promise.
I hope you enjoyed!
