It was perfect. Flowers, leaves and lights adorned the kingdom as he watched the waterfall flow with a strange adoration, looking back to when its artificial expansion took place, creating a sight he stared at for minutes at the start of a day, sun glistening on the pure water.
He felt as if, for once, the universe had been nice, allowed him to walk paths he had done for the entirety for his life, yet never with this much of an affect. He had let the scenery blur as he rushed passed, flew over and watched with careful protection.
Scott was finally granted the brother he had lost. Stood there in Rivendell robes, purple hair and teasing tone. It was as if life and death were a concept unknown to him in that lifetime. Because his family weren't buried in graves or terrorising his every other thought.
And he had a husband! Jimmy sat waiting with the gentle smile he hadn't seen for millennia. He had missed the warm embrace of the blonde, missed chaste kisses and guiltless romance he found in books hidden in bookcases he hardly had time to organise.
He couldn't have asked for something softer than that. Would be greedy to ask for continuos peace and riddance of the memories that used to haunt him time after time, day and night, hour and minutes with no warning.
Happy endings really did exist.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
He woke up. The cold isolation of his bed whispering in his head "Wake up."
It made him wish dreams weren't so cruelly optimistic.
