"I just don't understand his logic, Nana. I was trying to help but I couldn't do anything because they're all my friends" Sydney sighed as she sat down beside her Nana on the couch. "I just couldn't take one side".
"I don't blame you, hunny. You are very good friends with the pogues however Sarah was your first ever friend on the island" Nana Pauline shrugged. "And what could you have done?".
"I don't know, I just feel like I've let them down, especially John B" Sydney muttered.
"It probably would have made it worse if you got yourself involved, atleast JJ had the gun" Nana chuckled.
"I still can't believe you're okay with JJ having a gun" Sydney scoffed.
"I've known JJ and the pogues for 3 years, Syd. And I know for a fact that JJ would never intentionally hurt someone to the point of death" Nana Pauline stated. "No matter what reckless shit that group does, they make you happy and honestly, I consider them as family".
"I'm glad that's how you feel" Sydney smiled.
"Just don't tell your dad about the gun. Although he likes the pogues, he's still a deputy, meaning that would put him in a difficult situation" She informed. "Also, just because JJ has a gun, doesn't mean you can have one. Especially with your history of lashing out".
"I won't" Sydney replied as she stood up from the couch, heading over to the kitchen. "Let me guess, coffee with milk and 1 sugar?" Sydney chuckled as she turned back around to face the older woman.
"You know me too well" Nana chimed as she watched her granddaughter turn back around and walk over to the kettle.
As Sydney got out 2 mugs from the cupboard, she turned on the kettle, watching the water boil as she began filling up the mugs with coffee. A wave of guilt crashed into her as she thought about her conversation with Nana, telling her everything that had happened except the part where she had a gun of her own. The reason why she told Pauline everything, was because she needed someone to talk to and she knew that her Nana wouldn't care aslong as it wasn't her in possession of the gun.
Sydney poured in the boiling water, followed by the milk and sugar. Taking in her Nana's mug and handing it to her as she held onto her own.
"I think I'm just going to stay in today, yesterday has just put me in a bad mood" Sydney sighed as she walked up the stairs.
"He'll come around, Sydney. He always does" Nana stated with a smile, knowing fine well that the blonde would soon make an appearance.
