The group made it back to the chateau after finding the under-water drone at the salvage yard. JJ offered to drive Sydney home as everyone went their separate ways after the long day they had.

The two teens were sat in the twinkie as JJ had somehow convinced John B to let him take it for a spin, dropping Sydney off along the way. The atmosphere was calming as they sat in a comfortable silence, a silence where they enjoyed eachother's presence without having to necessarily speak.

"So what happened at the cafe?" JJ inquired, finally breaking the silence that surrounded the two.

"Nothing" She shrugged as she kept her gaze on the trees that passed by.

"You mentioned your mom earlier, why?" He questioned further.

"She wanted to buy the cafe. She strolled in with her two little blonde brats" Sydney sighed.

"Your mom is on the island?" JJ furrowed his eyebrows as he spared a quick glance at the girl.

"Yeah, her and her new family" She chuckled dryly.

"Screw family" JJ muttered as he rested one of his hands on top of hers, leaving one hand on the wheel.

"Pogues for life" Sydney smiled as she finally turned to face the boy.

"That's right, baby" JJ cheered as he turned to face the girl again, making eye-contact with Sydney for the first time before having to divert his eyes back onto the road. "So... is she buying it?".

"Hell no. My dad told her where to go" Sydney chuckled.

"Good. She doesn't deserve Nana's cafe" JJ chimed.

"She doesn't deserve anything".

The twinkie pulled up outside Sydney's house, causing the girl to hop out of the van. She walked round to JJ's side and watched as he rolled down the window.

"If I press this, promise you'll come" Sydney spoke up as she gestured to her sensored ring.

"Of course, princess" JJ replied as he sent her a smile.

"I'll see you later, Maybank" She saluted with a smile as she backed away from the van, watching as it pulled away from her drive.

"Catch ya later, Darcy" JJ retorted as he waved at her from out of the window, watching her figure dissappear from his view as he turned round a corner.

Sydney span on her heel before making her way inside her house, closing the door behind her. She made her way into the kitchen where she found a note stuck onto the fridge.

'I got a call from the Sheriff's Department. I'll be working a late shift tonight so I've left you some money for pizza in the draw under the sink'
