𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚃𝚎𝚗 - 𝚃𝚊𝚛𝚐𝚎𝚝 𝙿𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚌𝚎

Sydney was standing in an abandoned area, holding up her gun and she aimed it at a clear, plastic bottle that was placed on top of a tree stump. She clicked off the safety lock, and shot at the bottle, hitting it right in the centre, making it explode.

She liked this feeling, it was like she had everything under control, like she had all the power in the world. She walked over and picked up the bottle, positioning it back onto the tree stump and heading back over to where she was stood. She raised up the gun again, lining it up level with the bottle, letting her finger press down onto the trigger as she watched the remaining half of the bottle fly off the stump again. Considering Sydney had never even held a gun before, her aiming was pretty good.

As she went to pick up the remaining pieces of the bottle, she got a message from Kiara.

'Come to the chateau, mandatory meeting'

Sydney sighed to herself as she read the message, placing the gun in the wasteband of her shorts before heading over to the chateau.

"I've just sent a message to Sydney, she should be here soon" Kiara announced as the 4 of them were stood in Big John's office, on the search for any information about the compass.

"Here, look. This is the original owner, right here" John B stated as the group crowded around to look at the photo.

"Okay. Robert Q. Routledge, 1880 to 1920. There's the lucky compass, right there" Kiara pointed out.

"Actually, um... he was shot after he bought it" John B muttered. "Then the compass was shipped back to Henry. Henry was killed in a crop-dusting accident when he had the compass. After he died, the compass was given to Stephen. Stephen had the compass with him when he died in Vietnam".

"Let me guess, he died in action, right?" JJ inquired as he gazed at the photo of the soldier.

"Sort of. Uh, actually he was killed by a banana truck... in- in county" John B sighed. "Anyways, after that, Stephen passed the compass down to him, my dad".

"Hm, sounds like there's a reoccurring theme here" JJ stated.

"Yeah, you have a death compass" Pope deadpanned.

"I do not" John B defended.

"You have a death compass" Pope repeated.

"Get rid of it, it's cursed and made it's way back to you" JJ commented.

"Look, my dad used to talk about this compartment in here, soldiers used to hide secret notes" John B explained as he unscrewed the back of the compass off.
