Ace slammed his hands against the steering wheel.

"Mother fucker!" He snapped as he quickly got out and slammed his door shut.

Storming round he popped open the hood, quickly leaning back as the smoke blew out.

"Well that's fucking brilliant!" He snapped as he stood back and kicked the front of the car.

Running his hands through his hair, he pulled a cigarette from the packet in his pocket and lit it, letting the smoke fly from his mouth.

Looking around he realised he truly was in the middle of nowhere. He'd only been on his way home from a special job in Portland and clearly his car couldn't take it.

The evening was drawing to a close as the faint sound of an owl told him that night was close.

There were a few trees and bushes surrounding the otherwise empty road. Oh who was he kidding? No fucker came out this late.

Yet a rustle from one of the bushes caught his attention. In a heartbeat he kept his cigarette dangling from his lips as his hand went in his back pocket.

His blade was clutched tight in his hand as he was ready.

But he didn't pounce. A small scream was heard as Ace saw a girl his age stumble out the bushes.

She almost tried to scramble back as he took a few steps backwards.

"Who the fuck are you?!" He snapped as he looked her up and down.

Her deep brown hair was matted and stained a dark shade of red as Ace saw a trickle of dried blood down the side of her head. Her vest top and jeans were dirty and grubby and she only had one shoe on.

Her eyes fixated on him as he stared at her confused. He had never seen her before, that was for sure. She didn't belong.

"I'll ask it again, who the fuck are you?!" He snapped his question again.

The girl continued to stare at him as he waved his arms.

"Can't you fucking talk?!"

"I can talk!" She tried to snap back as Ace heard the familiar sound of fear in her voice.

"So answer my question, who the fuck are you?!"

The girl fell silent again as Ace groaned and turned back to his car.

"I don't have time for this fucking bullshit." He grumbled as the smoke had now cleared.

He flicked his cigarette away as he leant in the car, attempting to see what the problem was. His main problem being how little light he was now getting. If anything, he'd have to get Eyeball to come bring him back tomorrow.

"Your car's broken."

Ace rolled his eyes slightly as he stood up and looked at the girl.

"Well thank fuck one of us knows what's happening!" He spat out sarcastically. "Don't suppose you magically know anything about engines?" He spat out again.

The girl shook her head as she slowly edged closer. Ace spun to face her as she quickly took a few steps back.

"I ain't gonna fucking hurt you! Jesus calm down love." He snapped.

Yet he watched her eyes trail down to the blade in his hands. Quickly he put it away and shoved it in his back pocket.

"I didn't know who you were." He grumbled as he pulled another cigarette out.

He noticed the girl staring curiously at it. Ace stretched his arm out to her, offering her one.

"Smoke? You look like you need it." He mumbled, looking her up and down again.

The girl watched as Ace placed his own in his mouth. Cautiously she took a step closer and pulled one out the packet.

Yet before Ace lit his own he watched the girl take a bit of hers. Just as she chewed she quickly spat it all out, her tongue waggling from the hideous taste.

Ace couldn't help but laugh as he'd never seen some try and eat a cigarette before. Well except Charlie, but that was a stupid drunken dare one night.

"You don't eat them genius!" He said while laughing.

He held his up to her before placing it back in between his lips. He showed her his lighter as he lit it, before removing the cigarette and blowing out smoke.

He held his out to her as she slowly moved closer. Yet instead of taking it she just moved her mouth to his fingers as she gently inhaled.

The girl quickly stumbled back coughing and spluttering as smoke came from her. Ace shrugged slightly as he placed the cigarette back in his mouth.

"Not a smoker, understood." He mumbled as he eyed her up and down again.

"What did you say your name was?"

"I didn't." She mumbled as she looked around, almost somewhat confused.

"So what is it?" He pushed.

"I don't know." She mumbled quietly as she looked back at him.

Ace raised his eyebrow at her, smoke left his lips as he tilted his head to the side ever so slightly confused.

"How the fuck don't you know your own name?" He snapped.

The girl shrugged. "I... I can't remember..." she mumbled as her hand went up to her head.

She flinched instantly as she yanked her hand back down.

"You been in some kind of accident?" He asked as he pushed himself off his car, moving closer to the girl who was clearly no threat to him.

She shrugged again as she looked around. "I don't remember."

Ace continued to smoke as he nodded at her. "Looks like you had a nasty bump to the head."

The girl spun in a circle as she almost tried to look up at her head. Ace's eyebrow raised again as he watched her, she looked like a dog chasing it's tail.

"Alright chill." He quickly snapped as he placed his hands on her shoulders, holding her still.

"You remember anything?" He questioned as he looked down at her.

She stared up at him as her eyes locked him in, they were the same brown of her hair.

"I don't think so..." she mumbled.

"You got family? Boyfriend? Brother? Mates?" He pushed.

The girl shook her head again as she looked down.

"I... I don't remember..."

Ace released her shoulders as he looked around. No-one else was nearby. No other sound but faint animals was heard.

"Help me." She returned her focus up to him.

Ace scoffed slightly as he shook his head. "Yeah I don't help no-one, unless I get something in return." He mumbled.

"Please, I-" she begged as she pushed herself onto him.

Placing his hands on her arms he held her back.

"Not my girl, not my problem." He snapped out.

"Look I gotta go, you have fun and try remember who you are. Later love."

And with that Ace gently pushed her back as he turned and began walking down the road, back to Castle Rock.

He had gone a small distance before he couldn't help but turn. The girl had gone.

Shaking her from his mind, he continued walking and smoking. Ready to get Eyeball to drive him out tomorrow and pick up his car.
