A/N

Hello folks! I've been busy this weekend but here is a slightly longer chappie, so enjoy!

As I was writing the story I realized I was listening to a lot of music scores and I typically like reading while listening to them. So I came up with an idea to provide you with music that you can listen to while reading my story.

I made a Spotify playlist that will have a new addition to it as the story goes along. The fourth song on the playlist corresponds to this chapter. :)

You can find it here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2otIKWcR3th5fkswnUDXNe?si=67f0ff1aa8a1408d

-------------

It has been a few days since Naruto's escape from the Hidden Leaf and that strange encounter with that Fourth Hokage doppelgänger. 'Who was that guy?' a thought ran through Naruto's mind for the past three days.

The blue-eyed blond travelled at a really fast speed towards Orochimaru's hideout, barely taking any breaks and even when he did take a break he'd only stay in one place for no longer than an hour, sometimes taking short 30 minute naps.

Stopping at the villages along the way was not an option since he had to keep a low profile until he reached the Akatsuki and was away from the leaf for good. In fact, the Leaf was still at it, on the way, he did have to kill off two more ANBU squads that attempted to catch him.

'Idiots, don't they get it? ANBU won't catch me! They are too weak and clueless to handle my actual level of skill.' - the boy thought to himself.

For years he'd sneak into libraries and the Hokage tower to research all kinds of scrolls that contained basic and forbidden Justus and train in the forest until sunrise. Exhausted from training he'd climb on the Hokage monument and watch the sun slowly rise over the village, streams of orange and soft red shining on the roofs and illuminating the ground. 'It sure is beautiful and so quiet and peaceful' a young blond boy thought. 'It's such a shame that a beautiful place like this is filled with such ugly and heartless people. I wish it was all different but it really isn't, huh Kurama?' -Naruto said in his mindscape

"I do too, kit. I really do" – the fox sighed

---------

"Kit, we are close to the hideout!" – Kurama chimed in interrupting Naruto's train of thought

"Oh yes, we are huh?" – a young blond mumbled rubbing the back of his neck – 'We'd have to be careful when we enter this hideout of his, who knows what kinds of traps he set up' – said Naruto in his mindscape

"Yes, kit, keep your senses heightened" – the fox warned the boy – "I still can't believe you made us go all this way to that snake Orochimaru, what if your plan doesn't work? I'm not in the mood to put up a fight right now. I haven't taken a nap in forever!"

'Oh, come on you lazy-ass fox, you better not nap right now! You can take all the naps you want after we strike our deal with the Akatsuki!' – Naruto shouted in his mindscape, an annoyed expression on his face. The fox just scoffed in response.

A young blond-haired boy walked through the entrance of the Sannin's hideout. Walking carefully through a long, dark hallway, the teen felt uneasy.

'It's too quiet Kurama, I don't like this' – Naruto whispered to the fox.

Suddenly he felt someone's chakra approaching him as he hid behind the corner of the hall, preparing for a surprise attack. A kunai in his left hand and a long katana in his right hand. He avoided using it before to not draw unwanted attention. No one who ever knew that Naruto's weapon of choice was a well-sharpened black katana, that he kept hidden in the scroll only to be used during his training. But now that he was out of the village for good, the need to hide his true abilities was no longer there.
