Adrien
"You want a wolf Marinette? I'll fucking give you one."
He glanced over, watching the purple smoke consume Nathaniel. He lunged over to them, ignoring Lila shouting about jealousy at him. He grabbed Marinette's wrist, simultaneously shoving Nathaniel down to the floor. Maybe it would give them a little time to hide.
"I...I didn't mean to." Marinette blurted, and he tugged her out of the classroom without a word.
He hadn't meant to either. If he had known Nathaniel was going to get acumatized he would have done something. Maybe tried talking him down, though he was almost positive that wouldn't have worked. Nathaniel hated his guts.
"Adrien?" Marinette asked as they raced down the hall, and he glanced back at her.
Her eyes were wide, and surprisingly she didn't look scared, just upset.
"What?"
"Is it true? Am I an awful person?"
He slowed down, glancing from room to room, trying to find an empty one. How was he supposed to answer her? She yanked hard on his hand, and he looked back at her again.
"I need you to tell me Adrien. Am I a horrible person?"
He didn't know. He could honestly never think of Marinette as a bad person. But this girl was different. She wasn't her. This girl seemed broken, so unlike his Marinette. This girl snuck out, she got into screaming matches and she attacked Lila. Her actions were all justified, in his opinion, but what about everything that came before? When he was in the other world, he had no clue how she acted. But the moments he got alone with her, she seemed like his Marinette. She seemed normal.
"Marinette... I honestly don't kn-"
A loud snarling sound interupted him, and they both looked in the direction of the noise. A black and white wolf stood at the end of the hall, it's angry gaze locked on Marinette. The thing barely fit into the hall, it was so large that it wouldn't be able to stand on it's hind legs without hitting the ceiling.
"Looks like he wasn't kidding. That's a wolf all right."
He scoffed at her indifferent tone, holding her hand tighter. They needed a plan and they needed it fast.
"Any ideas?"
"I'm fresh out at the moment." She whispered, and he gently took a step back, pulling her with him.
The second her foot moved, the wolf growled, trying to move so fast it's paws slid on the polished floor. They both turned, booking it down the hall as fast as they could, the wolf quickly closing the distance. Adrien glanced behind them just as the wolf lunged, and he shoved his body weight into Marinette, sending them both crashing through the gym doors. She groaned softly, and he scrambled off of her, slamming the door shut. He leaned against it, desperately trying to think of ideas. But like her, he seemed fresh out. No staff, no magic suit and no Plagg. Where were the supposed heros anyway? Why hadn't they shown up yet? He felt something slam against the door, shoving it open slightly. He quickly pushed it back, and Marinette leaned against the door next to him. They needed a plan.
"Marinette I could really use that brain of yours."
She closed her eyes, flinching as the door was hit again.
"I can't."
He held back a groan, looking around the gym. It was completely empty aside from them, so there would be no calling for help. The pool was uncovered, there was a weight lifting set in the corner closest to them, and by the bleachers there was a large roll out mat, standing up straight. And finally, a plan formed.
