I'm a girl
Yes a girl, I speak before you now
I am a girl, both hated and lovedHiding my scars like the cloth over my body
Being that picture of beauty and perfection
Speak not for myself
Limit my truthI speak for myself I'm shut down
And down and down
Turning my truth to lies, I tell I'm not an object for your fun.
I don't exist to please your wants
I don't exist to look pretty and play defenselessA girl I am, strong I'm not to be
But strong, I stand against you
You and your words that shut me down
You and those who like to use me for their enjoyment
I look to you with not eyes of hatred
But with eyes that speak one with my thoughts of my knowledge, my power
A girl I am and a girl I shall standI stand here for those others who fear
I keep the knowledge that life isn't fair, truth will be lied, and being equal can never mean the same. But still I will stand
Here I will speak
Speak as I am
Yes I'm a girl
And a girl I stand
