"Grover, come on we have to keep moving," Annabeth encouraged with hast. We were nearly up half-blood hill when Grover's foot got stuck on a root of a tree. "We're not going to make it."

"We have to," Luke tried to sound confident but it came out more stressed. The giants were getting closer, within a minute we'd be dead. We needed to do something, we'd been traveling for days in order to get this far.

For a second Thalia met my gaze. Her eyes were filled with worry but then hardened into a look I couldn't recognise. "Run," Thalia ordered while charging further into the woods. I realised too late, Thalia was already gone.

"No, Thalia, don't," Luke and Grover held back Annabeth and I as we struggled against their grip. By this point tears where streaming down my face, my heart thumping in my ribcage, but nothing could have prepared me for what happened next. Thalia was thrown across the trees and landed head first hitting the ground hard.

No, she couldn't be dead, but the words held no hope only denial and I was left with the one fact. It was all my fault. I could have stopped Thalia I could have dragged her all the way up the hill if that's what it took. But no, I didn't.

Some how Luke and Grover got us to Camp Half-blood I wasn't paying attention to what was happening around us after all the worst had already happened. A centaur called Chiron led us into the big house. He must have sensed that we didn't want to discuss what had occurred prior so instead he let us enjoy the campfire.

The Campfire was pleasant but my body felt numb. Drained of all emotion and feeling I had. I never could deal with grief. One would call it the children of chaos's curse. Forever living yet forever being the biggest source of death.

A glowing took my attention away from my thoughts. A Glowing Owl was above Annabeth's head. This must mean her mother is Athena.

My theory was proved correct when everybody kneeled and began to say,

" All Hail Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, Goddess of wisdom."

Luke had already been claimed as the son of Hermes before we go to camp. I hadn't told them about my father yet however it seemed they were going to find out either way. As a circle of arrows appeared above my head. My dad had claimed me.

"All Hail Katerina Swan, daughter of Chaos the void." Everyone seemed to be confused as Chaos wasn't exactly known for ever visiting earth let alone have a mortal child. I couldn't blame them, it is rare.

"Katerina, sadly your father doesn't have a cabin here so you'll be sleeping in cabin eleven." Chiron seemed a bit weary but hide it well. "It's fine," I said in a robotic voice.

As the night drew nearer, I headed to cabin eleven to sleep. On the way I pasted cabin one. That's where Thalia would be sleeping round about now. My heart ached with guilt every time I even thought of her name. That was the last time I would talk of Thalia again for a long time. After that night I hide all my emotions away. I wouldn't lose somebody else.

I got help from some of the elder campers to contact Renee and Bella using an Iris message. It was time to tell Bella. I didn't want to but she needed to know why I wasn't at home and I wasn't going to start lying to her.

A vision of Bella and Renee appeared in front of me. "Hi, mom, hi Bella," I said waving.

"Oh, thank goodness, you're alright, promise me you will never run off like that again and when you get home you are grounded," Renee told me in a shockingly stern voice.
