Chapter 6

Remus' POV

It had been about a month since me and Sirius' date. We decided that for now it would be a secret since, I was still questioning my sexuality and Sirius hadn't come out yet. And on top of that, I'm not sure our friends would take it lightly if we told them their two best friends who they thought were straight, are dating.

Well technically we're not dating. Whatever we are, I'm happy with it, for now. Sirius seems to want to take it a step further and tell our friends, but I explained to him that I wanted to keep it a secret for a little while longer, and obviously he was so thoughtful and caring about the topic and agreed.

I layed on my bed, reading a book while Sirius' head was laying in my lap. I was unintentionally playing with Sirius' hair as he hummed a familiar tune.

Sirius got up abruptly and walked over to the record player.

"Am I allowed to touch this now?" [A/N: That's the what said- i'll leave now.] He questioned, half teasingly.

"Yes Siri. You're allowed to touch the record player. I have some records on the second shelf." I said sarcastically, looking back at my book. He chuckled and turned on the song 'Put Your Head on My Shoulder' by Paul Anka.

"You know this song came out the year I was born?" Sirius asked while simultaneously pushing the needle towards the edge of the record player.

"No..." I replied and put my book down. The music started to play and Sirius reached out his hand towards me. I chuckled and grabbed his hand as he pulled me up and put one arm around my waist and the other holding onto my hand.

Sirius rested his head on my shoulder as we swayed to the music. I know it's cliché, but I felt safe in his arms. He pulled me into him, both of his arms around my neck as the music continued.

Sirius pulled away slightly and looked up at me slightly. He smiled softly and pulled me into a soft kiss. We both smiled into the kiss and it was just like our first. Magical, passionate, emotional, and like an explosion went off in my stomach. In a good way.

I spun Sirius around and dipped him dramatically as we laughed. It was like a smile was imprinted on my face that I just couldn't get off. And I didn't want to.

As the song finished Sirius rested his forehead on mine.

"I love you." He blurted out in a whisper. I was shocked for a few seconds until I realized I was being silent for too long.

"I love you too Siri." I replied with a wide grin. He sighed in relief as we continued to dance.

-Time skip to that Afternoon-

General POV

"I need to find out what to get Moony for his birthday! It's tomorrow!" Sirius complained. He had of course gotten Remus' favorite chocolates from Honeydukes. Well more like a truckload. He bought 6 bars of each type of chocolate they had because he wasn't sure if Remus' favorite had changed. He got more of what he thought was Remus' actual favorite.

Sirius was still stressing about what else to get him. It was the first birthday since they declared their love for each other so it needed to be really special.

After a few hours of consideration he had come up with a plan. He would need to get Remus near Hogsmeade for this, so he wrote a note.

Dear Remmy,

Meet me at the Hogsmeade gate. 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. <3

Your perfect and beautiful Siri

He stuffed it in Remus' morning book that he always read when he woke up and headed to the Great Hall for dinner where the rest of the Marauders were already eating.

"Thanks for waiting." Sirius said sarcastically.

"You're welcome." James replied with a mouth I'll of potatoes, his gaze fixated on Lily.

They chuckled and started eating again before heading back to the dormitories to sleep. No one mentioned Remus' birthday because they wanted to make him think they forgot and them surprise his with all their gifts.

The four marauders sat down on their beds as they talked for hours before starting to get readers for bed.

"Hey Rem?" Sirius called quietly from across the room.

"Yea?"  Remus replied in a loud whisper.

"Can I borrow one of your jumpers? Mine are all dirty or lost." Sirius whined and gave Remus his best puppy eyes to which Remus just laughed at.

"Sure Sirius, just use these ones from the drawer." Remus laughed lightly as Sirius skipped over to the drawers.

Sirius looked through all of them before he found two that he really liked and put them on over his undershirt and boxers so it looked as if he only had the oversized jumper on.

"Thanks Rem!" Sirius exclaimed and kissed Remus in the cheek before Remus made his way back from the bathroom to a snoring Peter and a tired Sirius.

"Good night." Remus muttered into his pillow as he flipped onto it.

Various 'good night', 'night', and g'night' were thrown around the room as they all fell asleep.

To be honest, Remus almost forgot his birthday was tomorrow so he doubted his friend would remember either. It's not like it's their job to get his presents or anything.

Remus fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. Well only one dream about his black haired lover, but other than that, dreamless.
