The next day, we had Amity training. Merida said her cut was healed up, but every now and then, she'd give in a small rub, like it was sore. Anyways, today's clothes were dark red shorts and yellow t-shirts. We changed and were led to the open orchards of Amity, where we were greeted by-

“Ariel?" Punzie and I said in unison.

“Hi Punzie! Hey Jack! Welcome to our main orchard!" Ariel beamed.

“Hey, Ariel! What's up? How are things with Eric? Is it peach season or grapefruit season? What're we doing today? Are you training us? Did you get a haircut?"

Ariel seemed accustomed to Punzie's fast-paced interrogations, and she answered all the questions without missing a beat.

“Nothin' much, great, grapefruit, training, yes, and yes!" She said, and took a deep breath. “Shall we get started?"

Ariel led us to a small building covered in beautiful murals. Inside was a small reception area and a hallway. She showed us down the hallway and through a door.

In that room was a glass cabinet of vials, and a glass wall. On the other side of the glass wall were two chairs- a red one and a yellow one- facing eachother.

“Let's see..." Ariel said, pulling put a clipboard. “Today, we have only two tests...Jack, Merida, go into the room and sit across from eachother."

We obeyed her, and she came back with a syringe full of a light purple substance.

“Hold still..." Ariel warned, and plunged the needle into my forearm. I was overcome with a light, giddy feeling and began to giggle.

“Woah...what is that stuff?" Merida asked, but the needle is already in her arm. A smile spread across her face as well.

“Oh my goodness! This is fun!!" She giggled, and I giggled back.

“You're pretty when you giggle!" I said, in a daze. As if to clarify my point, I booped her on the nose.

“You're pretty too!"

“You're silly!"

“Duck!"

“Goose!"

“Oooh..."

After half an hour of us acting like this, Ariel pulled us out and put Punzie and Hiccup into the room, but this time, a girl in a tight black dress in with them. She looked oddly familiar-

“Hi, Elsa!!" Merida yelled, waving her arms like a maniac. Elsa rolled her eyes disgustedly.

“The purpose of this exercise is to be pleasant to an unpleasant person!" Ariel called. I kinda forget what happened after that; Merida and I were pretending to be turkey legs.

“Ugh, that was awful."

We retired to our dorms early, and we were going to change and head to Dauntless for a bite to eat. Lori always supplied us food, but it wasn't the same as hot, greasy restaurant food.

I tugged off my shirt and searched under my bed for something that would help me blend in. In fact, I had just found my old Candor jacket, when I herd a loud gasp.

“What? What's wrong?" I asked, turning around. Merida was standing there, eyes wide, while the rest of us just stared at her.

“What was that on your back?" She whispered. I blushed and turned back around.

“This?" I asked.

“Yeah..."

“Its my tattoo," I said, shrugging. “I've had it ever since I can remember. What's so amazing about it?"

A still wide-eyed Merida turned around and pulled off her shirt. On her back was a vicious, roaring bear.

“Okay, maybe it's a coincidence?"

“No, I don't think so.." Hiccup said quietly. He turned around and unbuttoned his shirt. He had freckles all over his shoulders and back, but what stood out most was a tattoo of two dragons in flight.

“Wait," Merida said, turning around and crossing her arms over her chest. “I thought Erudites weren't allowed to get tattoos."

“We're not," Hiccup said over his shoulder. “I've had this forever and always hid it."

“I don't think this is a coincidence anymore.." Merida mumbled.

“Neither do I," Punzie said, turned around and bared her back for us to see. On it was a beautiful island that accompanied a dozen of little dots.

“What does it mean?" I asked, turning around.

“It means," Hiccup said, facing us all. “It's no mistake we were chosen to be Country Leaders."
