“S'matter?" I asked, as they led us to the hallway.

“What's with the new law? It's stupid!" The black haired guy demanded.

“Now, Eric, calm down, I'm sure they have a reasonable explanation for it!" Ariel said, but she sounded so tired and weary, I felt horrible.

“I dunno, unless they were dealing in some...shall we say, things, they wouldn't have made that decision!" The girl exclaimed, and I recognized her as my old friend, Belle.

“What do you mean?" Merida asked brusquely. Ariel pursed her lips, worry on her eyes.

“You guys must be tired. Just after lunch, there was an announcement that a new law had been made."

“I don't remember any-" Hiccup started, but Belle hushed him.

“This seemed to be no big deal, until we heard the law." She said, wringing her hands. “Anybody that doesn't apply for 2 factions or more, will be imprisoned. The test only applies us for one, so the streets are practically empty. A couple of factionless have been..h-have b-been.." She trailed off and burst into tears. The man she called Eric wrapped his arms around her, and turned to us.

“...executed." He finished quietly, sending a new wave of sobs over Ariel's body.

“We've just barely escaped," Belle explained. “And we've come here for you to revoke the law."

“Y-you d-don't understand." Punzie whispered, tears running down her cheeks. “We have no idea what happened. We've never made any laws a day in our lives!"

“I know what's happened." Hiccup said suddenly. We all turned to him, and he turned slightly pink. “It's Lori. She's using us as some kind of cover. She's in control, and if anything goes wrong, it's our fault, but if something goes spectacular, she takes credit as our mentor. We need to find her and stop her before she does anything else."

“Okay," Merida said. “But I have to set some thing straight."

She pushed the door open to the clinic. We didn't follow. She needed to do this herself.

When she came out, she looked very tired, bit she wore a smile, like she was glad she'd done it. I decided I had some loose ends to tie up with Elsa too.

I walked in, and Elsa was sitting up in her bed. She looked like she was expecting me, and gave me a small smile.

“Hello, Jack. Come to say good-bye?"

I gave a half shrug, and sat in a chair next to her bed. She looked over me, like she was scrutinizing a platter of meat, and smiled, like she liked what she saw.

“Uh, you have a boyfriend!" I blurted, and she looked slightly taken aback. “Sorry," I muttered after, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks.

“I guess Merida told you about the stunt I pulled awhile back?" She asked, and sighed when I nodded. “I'm not a bad person, Jack. I want you to know that. I need you know that. I was jealous of how easy-going Merida was, which is why all the guys liked her. I dealt with it poorly, an  now I've paid the price."

“Why're you telling me this? I came to apologize." I said, and she sighed sadly.

“I accept your apology, and I have to tell you something."

“What?"

“I love you."

And with that, she leaned forward in her bed, pulled my face towards her, and kissed me. I was tense at first, but I relaxed and let her go. I didn't even realize what I'd done until the clinic door opened. Merida stood there in an icy blue shirt, much like the glare she was giving me.

“Let's go, Frost." I got up, and left, Merida closing the door behind me. If I wasn't so shocked and giddy over my first kiss, I would've noticed how stiff my friend was, or the angry tears that filled her eyes.

“There's a train drop-off at a walking distance from here. We can ride it to her headquarters in Abnegation." Hiccup said, looking at a map. “We probably should split up. I don't think anybody left on the streets would be too eager to see us."

“We should probably travel in pairs, so we aren't completely alone." After I said this, I think Hiccup might've grabbed  Punzie's hand a little too quickly.

Merida and I were strolling down the sidewalk as casually as we could, and I decided to see why she was so upset. Because, so far, she was treating me like I'd pile-driven her grandmother.

“What's wrong?"

“What do you mean?" She asked tersely.

“You know what I mean," I said, frowning. “You're acting all...weird. Like...tense."

“Tense? I'm as calm as I've ever been in my life!"

“You're about as calm as a horse in a glue factory."

She looked at me sharply, but sighed, like she wanted nothing more than to just stop talking. “Fine, it's just when you kissed Elsa...I felt...weird."

“Weird? Like, jealous?"

“No!"

“Mm-hmm." I said, but let the subject drop. It felt pretty good to know that Merida cared that I'd kissed Elsa. Made me feel...special.

Anyways, once we reached the train station, Hiccup was already hot-wiring some train controls to work like auto-pilot. He shut the control panel and turned to us.

“The train will now take us to Abnegation. Now let's get on: it's programmed to leave in 2 minutes."

Yep, that is Jelsa, but I don't think that's gonna be the main ship. (Sorry)
