The train ride was long. Merida was still a little upset, but she seemed to forgive me. Or, at least, she kept being friendly (for Merida anyways).
Once we got to Abnegation, I understood what Ariel meant by everywhere being a ghost town. I've only seen Abnegation once, but it was bustling with activity. People rushing out of their homes to feed the factionless, people helping others, and feeding animals. But now, it was just dusty roads and squat grey houses. We walked through neighbourhoods and found animals sniffing around for their daily hand-outs. There were crates of food rotting in the sun, and faded grey robes, hanging over clothes lines.
It would've been peaceful, but there were quite a few signs of conflict. In the market, there was a couple upturned fruit carts, and dust was still settling like there were some scuffles.
“Uh, do you guys know where you're going?" I said, nervously looking at a pile of clothes that looks suspiciously like a person.
“Yeah, I'm not too eager to meet someone with that." Merida said, pointing at what could've been a cross between a gun, bow, and sword, lying on the ground. Punzie shuddered.
“Yeah, that's the government headquarters right there." Hiccup said, nodding to the only grand thing in Abnegation. It was a large grey building with crystal front doors that were surrounded by golden designs. The roof was huge, arched, and made completely out of glass.
“Wow." Punzie said, which I though summed it up quite well. We walked towards the front doors, and I realized the glossy exterior was merely a mask to the gory insides. Here, there was no doubt something had happened. Bullet holes lined the walls, and swipes of blood indicated some had found their target. Merida-the bravest of us all- gripped my hand in fear.
“I guess we're in the right place." Hiccup said, walking across the room, ignoring the smashed glass and artillery shells. Still stunned, we followed him to an empty hallway. We'd only walked a couple yards, when we found a door labelled Lori.
“This is it." I whispered, taking Merida and Punzie's hands.
“We might not make it back." Merida agreed quietly.
“Nice knowing you guys." Punzie said, taking Hiccup's hand.
“Ditto." Hiccup said, and pushed open the door.

When ge pushed open the door, we were met with a place that was horrible and beautiful at the same time.
The beautiful part: a huge room with a plush blue carpet covering the floor. A golden-gilded staircase led up to a balcony above our heads. The horrible part? Just underneath it, Lori sat on a day bed, as if she was waiting for us.
“Finally," She said in her broken-glass-voice. “I wondered when you'd arrive."
Merida stepped forward. “We're here to stop you."
“Stop me." Lori mused.
“We've figured out your plan." Hiccup said, stepping up as well.
“You can't hurt anyone anymore." Punzie said.
“Ah, but you see, you can't stop me." Lori said, and a gunshot went on outside.
“Stop it!" I yelled, and charged towards her, but some guards I hadn't noticed before stopped me.
“I was right about you troublesome teenagers." She said, frowning. “I think we better take care of that, shall we? No worries, I'll do it in a place you know well. How about...school?"
