Chapter Twelve

I stand in front of the box and look down. I hear a thud and then the Greenie alarm goes off.

Thomas had only been here for like four days, it's impossible. Suddenly I hear shouts and I continue to look down at the box and I hear thuds.

I turn slowly and see Gally storming over with Newt limping a run to keep up. Everyone follows after them.

"What did you do!" Gally shouts.

"You have no authority Gally, only Billie does right now!" Newt shouts.

I turn around and pick up the doors, but then Gally shoves me away slightly taking the door and had help from Newt and they open them.

Newt jumps down and I follow after him "what is it Newt?" Someone calls.

Newt pops his head up as I crouch down beside it "its a girl"

"Is she hot?"

"I call dibs!"

"No way man"

"Dude I called it"

I grow angry and I slowly stand up, my eyebrow twitching in annoyance "EVERYONE SHUT UP BEFORE I BANSIH ALL OF YOUR SHUCK ARSES!" I scream angrily.

Everyone stops asking questions and I turn back to the girl and Newt "good to have you back"

I turn nodding "I'm not letting it bring me down again"

Then I turn and see something in her hand, "what's in her hand?" Gally asks reading my mind, Newt reaches forward and grabs it and slowly opens the paper.

"She's the last one, ever" he reads and looks up.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask as we both look up to the Gladers.

I turn to the girl and suddenly her eyes open and she gasps for air, I jump and look at her like I'm seeing a a ghost of my past "Thomas" she says panting. Then her eyes fall shut again.

I look up and toward Thomas and I realise everyone else is looking too. I sigh "let's get her out of here and to the Infirmary" I order standing up.

I walk to the edge and hold my hands up, Gally reaches forward and grabs my hands pulling me out. "Are you sure you're fine to give orders? I mean you're supposed to be in the Infirmary yourself" Zart says.

I glare at him "don't make me go get the poles" I snap.

"Yes ma'am" he blubbers and cowers away.

Gally smirks as we get girl out of the box "since when did you get so aggressive Bill?"

I shrug "since when did you become such a Shank?"

Then I turn around and head toward the Infirmary leaving him speechless.
