Ace's POV

As we got closer to the beach, Tobias looked over his shoulder more and more. He seemed so afraid of what was ahead, and I don't know what scared me more, the fact he was afraid of what lied ahead or the fact I was going to find out what it was.

I opened my mouth to ask him something, but a gust of wind froze me.

"What do you think you're doing?" that familiar voice snapped.

I sighed and Tobias stood completely still, petrified no doubt.

"We were just going for a walk."

"In the one direction I told you not to go, Ace?" Peter asked, his breathing heavy. He was mad, no doubt about it.

"I asked Tobias to show me, I want to see, Peter," I told him, crossing my arms and turning to face him.

"Tobias you better start sprinting back to camp right now or so help me god I'll..." Before Peter could finish Tobias took off into the woods, tearing up the ground beneath his feet.

I shook my head. "You were too hard on him, he was only doing what I asked."

"Why him, though?" he asked. "Of all people it had to be Tobias."

"What are you talking about?" I looked into Peter's eyes, was he... jealous?

I immediately burst lut laughing. "You're jealous of Tobias aren't you!" I squealed.

"I am not," he said grudgingly.

"Yes you are!" I laughed.

He rolled his eyes. "Not the point right now, I told you to stay at the tree house. Why can't you just do what I ask you for once?!"

"Why can't you just tell me what you're doing and quit going behind my back for once," I said, crossing my arms.

Silence fell over the two of us. He ran his fingers through his hair and took a deep breath. "I'm just... look I can't... it's not that simple."

I sighed. "What makes this so hard?! What haven't you told me? It can't be that bad."

Peter scoffed. "We'll see about that," he mumbled. "Just give me time to get it under control, then I promise to tell you everything."

"I'm sick of waiting for you to tell me things, Peter. I want to know, and I'm going to find out for myself if you don't tell me. Better yet, I'll ask Felix or Tobias, they wouldn't lie to me." I brush past him towards the camp.

"Here we go again!" he calls. "Your playing that card, thinking that if you get me jealous I'll tell you!"

He was right, I was. Usually, it worked, but when I looked over my shoulder he still stood in the same spot.

"I'm done with it. If you can't trust me then fine, I'll be at my thinking tree."

I sighed and turned around to say something. He still stood where we stood before, his arms crossed.

"I deserve to know," I said after a few moments of silence.

"I need time."

"I can help you, you know I can."

"I do know that you can, but I don't want you to get hurt," he said.

"Why does that matter?!" I cried. "You never were concerned before, you know I can handle myself."

"Ace, I know you can. Trust me, I want nothing more then for you to help me beat these guys out of Neverland. But I can't risk it, and when I explain it you'll understand. You need to wait and let me explain it though."

"Why?"

"Because if you don't you might hate me forever," he replied, looking down.

My expression softened and I took a couple steps closer to him. "There is nothing you can do to make me hate you forever."

"There is one thing, trust me. Please, give me just one day, that's all I'm asking."

I huffed, it was one day. "Fine."

He smiled and walked over to me, pulling me into his chest. "Thanks for understanding."

"I don't understand," I mumbled. "But as soon as one day is up I want to know, you understand Peter Pan?"

"You have my word, Acelina." I visibly cringed. "Oh, I'm so sorry I forgot!" he exclaimed.

"It's okay," I whispered. He kissed my head and let me go.

"I'll be back soon, I'm going to go take down those bastards off the shore. Then I'll be back at camp and you'll be there, right?" I nodded. "Good."

"Don't get mad at Tobias, please. He didn't mean to."

Peter sighed dramatically. "If you say so," he groaned.

I smiled and pecked him on the lips before we took off in different directions.

Unknown POV

"Did you do what I asked?" Hook asked, appearing from behind a tree.

"I'm trying, it isn't so easy to gain her trust. I'm almost positive she hasn't looked at me twice."

"I've seen you two talk, she knows you at least."

"That doesn't mean she trusts me, though."

"Then gain her trust," Hook hissed. "I'm not here for excuses, I'm here for you to do what I ask. Are you afraid of what Pan will do to you if she gets hurt? Well mark my words if you don't come through I'll make what Pan has planned for you look like child's play. Am I clear?"

I gulped and nodded slowly. I didn't know who scared me more in all honesty, Pan or Hook. I've had the "pleasure" of seeing both of them at their breaking points and it was not enjoyable.

"Now, you get back to that camp and you make nice with Acelina. I don't care if you become friends by braiding each other's hair, just talk to one another. And if she doesn't trust you by the next time we talk," Hook paused, holding up his hook, "well, you can guess."

"Yes sir," I said quickly, before taking off to the camp.

A/N: Hey guys! So I know you've been waiting a while, and I am really sorry (I do say this a lot but I do mean it). That's why I've started my update schedule, to make sure I keep updating. I know this chapter was short, but it's just here to set everything in motion, I'm still very much excited for this book!
