Ace's POV
Camp was dead, no pun intended.
The boys all sat around, barely anyone bothered to speak a word. It was an eerie silence, a depressing one. Everyone's heads were hung, some still sniffling from tears.
Peter had at first ranted to me, before going to cool off so we could come up with a plan. Felix and Tobias had taken Harry's body out of camp, at which Zayn had to hold back another wave of tears. They also took out Hook's dead crew member.
I wanted to say something, but what was there to say? Now was not the time for jokes, or a game. The mood wasn't right. What else was there to do? I could try to motivate them, that might work. Not to mention it would get everyone on their feet and lighten the mood.
"Well," I started, stepping onto a tree stump in the middle of camp. Everyone looked over at me. "We lost three Lost Boys today, two are dead, and one will soon be. Want to know how I feel? Honestly, it's killing me. I want to do the same as all of you. Crawl into a hole and lie down, accepting it. Accepting the fact you got beat without doing anything about it. And, when I was little, I probably did exactly that." I paused. "But are we really just going to lie down and let Hook walk all over us? This is what he wanted! To break us down and make us want to quit. To give up. Well guess what? We aren't going to do that. We are going to stand up and be stronger than ever. We are going to hit Hook back, harder than he hit us. Those boys, Thomas and Harry, they didn't die for nothing. We're going to kill Hook and every breathing pirate on this island and on that ship."
The boys were standing now, most looked angry. Some began pulling out their weapons.
"Are we going to let them step on us?"
"No!" Tobias yelled. I looked at him and he smiled back.
"Are we going to let them die for nothing?"
"No!" A couple more boys cheered now.
"Are we going to let them beat us?!"
"No!" they all cheered, pumping fists in the air.
"That's damn right! This is our island, and no one comes onto our island and hurts our friends! We are Lost Boys, and we don't let anyone hold us down."
"Yeah!" the boys screamed. Some high fived, others through knives and screamed.
I smiled, stepping down. Those are the Lost Boys I know, that's the spirit. Hook had no idea what he started.
"Not bad," I heard Peter say. I turned around to see him leaning against the tree, clapping.
I smiled, and walked over, wrapping my arms around his waist. "Better than you could've done."
He laughed. "Want to bet?"
"No because then you'll actually go and try it."
He smiled. "I'm glad the boys have you. I'm glad I have you, you know that?"
"Yeah," I mumbled.
"Hook thought we could just walk in, tear everything we love apart and walk out. I'm glad he couldn't."
I nodded, so was I. If there was one hobby my father had it was destroying everything you loved.
"What's our plan of attack?" I asked, letting him go and folding my arms across my chest.
"I don't know, honestly. My original plan was to get Tink so we had two people with magic on our side, but who knows if she's also working with him."
I nodded, she would've been a strong edition to our side. "I just can't believe he was able to sneak a spy into our camp without us knowing."
Peter sighed. "That threw me for a loop too. Luke was always so quiet I wasn't expecting it."
