Lord Perseus

Chapter 12

Percy POV 

"I think we've hit a jackpot here boys" I called looking down over the encampment we'd found "a whole army in this one place. We couldn't have gotten an easier chance if we tried."

"Can I blow them up, please can I blow them up?" Boom begged

"Yes. I give you my permission to blow the crap out of them."

"Thank you! Alright, we have a few options. I've got some Greek fire bombs here so we could use those. I got one of my new inventions here that sucks in all the energy around it and fires it back out in the form of an explosion. I've never used that one so I want to see if it works. Finally we have another one of my new creations. It's basically a nuclear bomb but in handheld form."

"If I may" Alpha cut in "The second option probably wouldn't work as there's not much electricity and energy around the camp. And when it comes to the third option, nuking America would obviously cause massive loss of life so that off the table. The Greek fire bombs would also start a massive forest fire having the potential to destroy a lot of property and kill many.."

"I'd say the fire bombs are our best bet." I reasoned "yes it has the potential to be dangerous, but it's the best option we have. The second choice wouldn't work and the third choice is a literal nuclear bomb. So the Greek fire bombs are the only thing we could use."

"We could just not use any bombs. We have more than enough normal weapons to take out the enemy without using explosives. It seems exceedingly irresponsible and amoral to risk the lives of many innocent people."

"Quiet Alpha! I promised Boom we'd use explosives so that's what we're going to do."

"Alright, you can go and blow stuff up but I'm having no part in it. I'll be waiting here for you guys."

"Have it your way Alpha" Jaw responded "alright guys, let's go have some fun."

And have fun we did. We sneaked down the hill and to the edge of the camp. 

"Alright boys. Light them up."

We caused absolutely havoc. The monsters and Titans were quite shocked to find their entire camp was suddenly on fire. They tried desperately to quell the flames but to no avail. Slowly, a majority of their ranks were consumed by the flame. And the rest abandoned their camp and ran off into the night.  What remained of their encampment was a green flaming mess that was very quickly spreading across the open fields. 

"Ha ha ha. Well that was fun"

"To damm right" Boom shouted in response laughing hysterically "we should do this sort of stuff more often!"

"Agreed. Now let's get back to Alpha and move on to the next target. If the rest of the mission is going to be anything like that, then I'm going to enjoy this more than I thought."

Thanks for reading this chapter. It's slightly shorter than most chapters and for that I'm sorry. I'm writing this segment mainly to touch more on the awful conflict currently going on in Ukraine. The Ukrainian people have proven to be probably the strongest and most badass people in Europe. I've got nothing but respect for the Ukrainian army and it's people. I don't know about his political history but it seems that the Ukrainian president is a true leader willing to die for his country. I never thought it possible that a war in Europe could break out in the 21 century but Putin and his cronies have proved me wrong. If any Ukrainian somehow ends up seeing this, I want to tell you that you guys are doing a brilliant job and to stay strong.
