Percy POV

That wasn't very helpful at all. I was hoping for some wise advice to provide some much needed clarity on my predicament, and I was given the exact opposite. What the hell does democracy have to do with saving Rex. Never mind, I guess we'll have it do it on our own. Sighing deeply, I beckon over Jaw.

"Hey Percy, what do you want?"

"I need you to listen to me Jaw, this is serious. You're Rex's deputy so for the foreseeable future I place you in charge of the warriors. All of Rex's duties and responsibilities now fall to you, do you understand?"

"Percy I don't know if I ca-"

"It wasn't a question Jaw, that's an order."

"Alright Percy if that's what you want I'll do it." He said, looking not at all the irresponsible reckless person he usually was.

"That's good to hear. I hate to have to do it, but we're all splitting up again."

"What! Percy this will not end well. Have you forgotten what just happened."

"I know Jaw, God I know, but it's the only way. I refuse, no matter what my father says, to leave Rex to die. But you must continue our mission, and take out enemy strongholds."

"Are you sure you want to do this Percy?"

"Yes" i respond my heart heavy.

"I want you to know that, if you had asked, we would have followed you to the end."

My words were caught up on my throat as I blinked away tears.

"Thank you My friend. I thank all of you for following me. And if, fates willing, we meet again, I promise I'll have Rex with me."

Line break

Percy stood in the centre of a circle of golden dust, dusting off his cloak. He had just finished dealing with a group of Tians who had been uncooperative. He had asked them where Rex was, but they hadn't gave him an answer. So he had dealt with them accordingly. Though he had managed to deduce that Rex had Been at Kronos' Palace, but he already knew that. If he was still there, or if he had been taken away, Percy didn't know. He pondered what to do. Should he go to Kronos' Palace, and risk running in to Kronos himself, or chose another path. If he were to chose the latter, where would he go? He didn't even know where to start looking. He had tried to sense Rex's presence, but he couldn't locate him. Seemingly the only way was to go to Kronos' Palace and look for clues there. Calming himself, he bounded off into the trees in search of The Titan lords stronghold.

He had been running for nearly a day, tirelessly searching but with no luck. He would have flashed there but to do that he needed to know where it was. When all hope seems lost, percy noticed a snake slither out of a nearby Bush. He approached it and knelt down.

"Hello there my friend, i was wondering if you could help me." Percy voice had not come out as English, instead he has spoken the hissing language of snakes.

"Yes My lord, anything for you. What do you require?"

"I am looking for Kronos' Palace. Do you know where it is?"

"Do not say that name my lord, not in these woods. He has tormented the inhabitants of this wood since he returned many months ago. But through such torment he has gained a infamous reputation, and the location of his Palace is common knowledge. Continue north for 5 Miles, then turn west for 12 miles and you'll arrive at the gates."

"You have been most helpful my friend. And for helping me you shall be rewarded. You shall now be master of all snakes and leader of this wood. And I promise to attempt to rid this place of Kronos' evil."

"Thank you My lord. Your kindness and generosity is truly unparalleled. All this wood shall know of your greatness." The snake hissed before turning and slithering away.

The snake had indeed been very helpful, and he now knew exactly where to go. So without wasting any more time, he set off in the direction he had been told. The journey to the palace from there was a lot easier, but Percy could have sworn he saw eyes watching him at some points. It could have just been his nerves, but his instincts told him it wasn't. Soon enough, he eventually came across the tall, imposing gates the snake had described. Peering inside the gates, I was shocked at what I saw. The place was a mess, things we're blown up, buildings were crumbling and many guards lay dead amongst the rubble. It looked like Rex had certainly been here at some point and had caused some carnage. But although many lay dead, there was still seemingly thousands still alive. He would have to be careful about not getting noticed. He jumped the fence and slowly made the way to the closest building to him, or what was left of it at least. Luckily the building he had approached harpenden to be Kronos'...Office maybe. Whatever it was, it was obvious Kronos spent a lot of time here. He glanced through the window and saw that no-one seemed to be there. Feeling a bit more confident, he loved around to the other side of the building and slipped through the door. It seemed like a remarkably normal place, not befitting the Titan who resided there. There was a large desk at the end of the room with a stack of paperwork and a globe on it. Many paintings we're hung up on the walls, with Kronos seemingly liking renaissance art. A massive book shelf spanned the entire left side the room, with books by authors ranging from Plato to Shakespeare. Hanging above the door, in the eyeline of the desk, was a flat screen TV looking as if it had never been used. Along with the paintings, there were various weapons hung up, in particular a 3ft long broadsword above the desk. Percy ventured forward in the room and approached the desk. The paperwork seems normal at first, until he stumbled across some letters to and from Kronos. Send a nervous glance around the room, he picked up the first letter and began to read.

Kronos,

I an glad to here of your successful reforming on earth, it took me a while to convince Tartarus to let you go but he came around eventually. You will be integral to our plans i and you will receive the reward we promised, if you do as we say.

We need you to, for now, focus on building up yiu Palace and armies. Your old rival Percy Jackson has just been made a god. Ha! The foolish Olympians have played right into our hands. We believe he is also making a group of sorts to help him in his duties, they will come in useful later. We also want you to prepare your armies because we need you to make a distraction. They will be so distracted defending against you that they'll never notice us coming. That is all, we will be in touch for further orders.

P

Percy eyes grew wide as he read through the letter. Whoever 'P' was, he had planned everything that had happened over the last few months. And they had all fallen right into his hands. And from what the letter has said, it looked like the war was a decoy made to distract them from the real problem. He had to get this information back to the council immediately, this wasa game changer. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he hadn't seen the shadow appear behind him. Kronos crept up and whacked the  butt of his scythe against the back of Percy's head. The god crumpled to the floor. The last thing he saw before fading into unconsciousness was Kronos' smirking face above him.
