"What are you doing?"
Gorya looked up to see Haruka by the door with her brother looking down at her confused. She had been swinging the umbrella around like it was a wand while thinking nervously of the double date between her and Thyme.
"What are you doing here?" she asked the taller girl. Haruka moved away from the door and sat at the end of Gorya's bed, looking through the mess of products the girl had on her bed.
"I was curious to see what you were going to wear on your date" she said, playing around with the zipper of her makeup bag. Truthfully, she wanted to help Gorya dress for her date but didn't want to force her into compromising. Their styles were too different so she didn't want to make her uncomfortable with an outfit she wasn't used to wearing. But Gorya didn't know what to wear.
"You should wear what you feel confident in" said Glakao. He made a very good point. Charisma and confidence build character. You could be wearing an atrocious outfit but if you are cool and collected while wearing it then people will see as an artistic outlet instead. At least that's how Haruka felt with street pictorials of models on fashion week.
"What he said" Haruka retorted pointing at Gorya's brother.
"But let me do your makeup" She said with her palms pressed together against each other. She wouldn't do an elaborate look on the girl as she knew she had a more simple style. Brows, mascara and lipbalm was all she asked. And she delivered.
Haruka decided to give Gorya a ride to the zoo as they would be leaving together. Haruka waved in goodbye and called out goodluck to the shorter girl as they dropped her off by the entrance. She would be meeting with Thyme first before joining Kaning and her boyfriend .... To-toyota.. was that it?? Wait no Tesla! Now why would they name him after a car?
She had yet to buy a new kimono for a tea ceremony she was to attend on monday. She was going to skip school in the afternoon to attend this particular event. And she had to buy a new garmet as her old one ripped when she went to a summer festival a year ago. She hadn't bought one earlier because with her moving to Thailand and such she wouldn't be using it here, but she had gotten an invite from a japanese family friend. She wasn't even aware that Thailand had japanese-styled tea houses or she would've gone sooner. That period of silence and self-reflection the ceremony naturally provided while the guests drunk their tea was something she found solace in.
They had gotten at the shop earlier than the promised time so it was still closed. Haruka quickly got bored waiting in the car, so she thought of going on a walk to clear her mind and malaise. She almost ran straight into a concrete wall when someone came up from behind her and yelled BOO!! right by her ears. Her ears were ringing from the sudden scare she had suffered. She quickly turned around to give the intruder a peace of her mind when she noticed it was only MJ. She slapped his arm instead, making sure it hurt a little as a warning not do do it next time.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack??" she questioned, still clenching her chest with her right hand. He just laughed at her and she gave him a glare as a response. He put his arm around her and dragged her as they descended the street they were on. She almost stumbled as she had not expected this behaviour from him. He hauled her into a nearby cafe, forcing her to sit down on a corner table as he ordered for the two. Haruka watched him from behind as one of his legs bounced in boredom while waiting in line. There weren't that many people but he seemed to be jittery, maybe he had something on his mind. As usual, his whole attire was neat and in predictable shades of black. He wore black more than other colors. It was his signature look.
