Chapter 16: Wedding

I’m dressed in a suit, ready to attend Mina’s wedding, but it’s clear that it needs to be stopped. Everything is so messed up—she says she loves Jackson, but then she loves me. What am I supposed to do? She wants me to stop the wedding, but I’m unsure if I should.

"Buddy, it's Mina's wedding," Sana said, patting my shoulder gently.

I looked at her and smiled sadly. "Yeah, I know."

"Are you not hurt?"

"Of course, I’m hurt, but I’m ready to do something today."

"What will you do?" she asked. "Please don’t do anything bad."

"I won’t, Sana."

I overheard two officers discussing Jackson Wang.

"That Jackson Wang is hard to find. I don’t know where he is," one officer said.

"Man, even I don’t know where he is. But knowing he’s wanted, he’s probably partying right now," the other replied.

I need to tell them about this. There’s a chance Jackson faked his identity for the wedding.

"Hello, officers! I heard you’re looking for Jackson Wang," I said.

"Yes, do you know him?" one of them asked.

I nodded. "He’s a friend. I know where he is."

They looked at each other and then nodded. They had me direct them to the church where Mina and Jackson’s wedding was taking place.

They introduced themselves as Officer Kim Taehyung, the tall one with big muscles, and Officer Park Jimin, the handsome one with big muscles.

"Are you sure he’s here, kid?" Officer Kim asked.

"Yes! Just stay here, okay? I’m ready to stop the wedding."

"In love, huh?" Officer Park teased. I groaned and shushed them as I peeked through the side to see what was happening.

The wedding processional began, and everyone was familiar. Then it was Mina’s turn.

My world stopped when I saw her in her white dress. She looked so beautiful. Don’t worry, Mina. Just wait for me, and I’ll be there soon.

I felt a smack on my head. "Hey, kid! She might melt," Officer Park said.

"Aish! Do you really need to smack my head, officer?"

Officer Kim glared at him. "She might change her mind if you keep teasing her."

"Oh, yeah! Sorry, Nayeon," Officer Park apologized.

We heard the priest speak. I was getting impatient, waiting for him to ask if anyone objected.

When the priest finally asked, "Does anyone object to this marriage?" I stood up and fixed myself. "Officers, you need to be attentive. This is it. Prepare yourselves. I’m ready to stop this wedding."

They stood up, readying their handcuffs.

I walked through the door. "Yes, and it’s me."

Everyone gasped as they saw me. Jackson’s eyes reflected anger.

"I have a reason for this. If there was nothing wrong with this wedding, I wouldn’t do this. But I have information that everyone needs to know," I said firmly.

"Nayeon, stop this!" Jackson shouted angrily.

"Why should I? I know you forced Mina into this wedding. You just want her body, Jackson. I don’t want her to get hurt," I retorted.

People gasped again. "What are you saying, Nayeon?" Jackson asked, pretending to be innocent.

"Oh, come on! Stop acting innocent. You don’t look innocent even if you pretend," I said, smirking as I saw him clench his jaw. "I’m here to save Mina from you. It’s not right to hurt people before killing them, Mr. Wang."

I saw him trying to control his anger. The suspicious guy from earlier was also there, looking suspicious. I clapped, and the officers moved in to arrest Jackson. I followed them.

As they put handcuffs on Jackson’s wrists, I ran to get close to Mina, but then I felt a sudden pain. I looked to my side and saw the suspicious guy smirking.

I grabbed his wrist as he tried to pull away, but I held on. He was strong, but I was determined. Officer Park ran over and restrained the suspicious guy, putting handcuffs on him as well.

My body felt weak. I tried to stand as I heard whispers around me. Mina’s worried gaze approached.

She placed her arms around my head to protect me. Her eyes filled with tears as she saw my condition. I smiled weakly despite the pain.

Her tears fell freely. Seeing her like this broke my heart even more. I tried to stay strong for her.

"Nayeonnie," she sobbed. "You got stabbed."
