"You should put me on the team" Lonnie smiles
"Hey! What?!" Chad asks "No, no, no. We'll be the laughing stock of the league! And what's gonna happen next? We'll have girls playing tourney? Come on, guys!" He laughs
"So? What's wrong with girls playing tourney?" I ask, pointing my sword to him. He tries to knock it away but I just swing it around his arm and at his chest again
"Jay! Have you not read the rule book?" He asks "Section 2, Paragraph 3, 11 dash 4. 'A team will be comprised of a captain and eight MEN' hm?" He says, showing everyone the rule book" I laugh and scoff at him "You should read the rule book!"
"Yeah, but you're down a man. You know, since Ben had to do king stuff! Surely Lonnie can-" I start but get cut off
"Exactly. We're down a MAN!"
"Jay" Lonnie sighs
"I'm sorry. Coach trust me. I'm not gonna stay captain if I just throw out the rule book"
"If my mother thought that way... she would've lost the war" Lonnie frowns. Chad scoffs
"Okay?" He laughs. Lonnie starts walking away "Rulebook. Rulebook" Chad taunts. She laughs sarcastically and walks away. I look up and see Jane
Oh gosh! I still need to talk to her about pen toppers!
I put my helmet on the side and run up the stairs to her.
"Jane!"
"Y/N! You did great down there!" She smiles
"Thanks! But about those pen toppers that Mal chose!-"
"Oh! It's fine! We've sorted it" She smiles
"Oh! You're a lifesaver!" We hug and then I go to walk away
"Y/N! Wait!" I turn around and see Carlos standing on one of the blocks
"Right! Sorry, Carlos! I just had to talk to Jane. What's up?" I ask
"Not much, you?"
"So much" I laugh "We were gonna go with the blue and gold banner for Cotillion but Jane told me we can't find the right shade of blue to match the gold so it's like Ahhh!" I laugh
"Oh, yeah. No, that's a bummer"
"Right, sorry! You don't want to know this" I sigh
"No it's fine! But speaking of Cotillion..."
"I know right! I'm sorry that I keep going on! Everyone keeps speaking about it 24/7 like I don't already know!" I sigh
"Exactly, it's like they've never been to one before" Jane says, walking past
"Uh... we haven't actually" Carlos says
"Oh...." She says "You're lucky... I just end up serving lunch with mom..." She laughs nervously and walks off
"Why are you stuck in the decorating committee anyway?" Carlos asks me
"Something to do with Audrey going to a spa vacation with her fairy besties" I shrug and roll my eyes "Did I not tell you?"
"Yeah! I just remembered!... Y/N... maybe we should just..-"
"Not go? I'd totally agree but there's this big surprise and I have to be there so" I laugh nervously "It's so great to have a boyfriend on the same wave length! It's like we're still besties!" I laugh, air punching him
"Ooh! You got me!" He smiles, holding his arm. We look at each other for a little bit until my phone starts ringing (Yes, they all have phones now)
