Almost two years ago, out of pure boredom, I revisited the Power Rangers franchise. At first ti started off from watching the Opening compilations, but then it became a whole other thing.

While I did grow up watching the show, watching some older seasons, and religously watching Samurai when it aired at the time. Though I quit during Megaforce, ever since then I stayed away from the franchise.

But now, my interest was re-kindled, despite the campy asthetics, I was still drawn to it. Something about it was just appealing to me. Maybe it was The Lion Guard that de-sensitized me to some of the more goofy elements of the show, or maybe I just found the goofy parts enjoyable, but eventually, I began to watch full episodes of the show.

I first started with the fan favorite season, RPM. A season I fucking loved. Right after that, I re-visited Time Force, and much like RPM, I enjoyed it. Fast foreward to now, and I have officially seen every season of Power Rangers released up to this point. So now I'm going to review every Season.

Saban Era (Zordon Era):

Season 1-3: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

The Season that started it all. While Stan Lee pitched the concept for an adaptation of Super Sentai, in which they would use the fight scenes, but film new footage with American Actors to create a new story and show, unfortunatly it was rejected at the time.

Haim Saban would later on revisit this concept and sign a deal with Toei, the creators of Super Sentai, to let them adapt Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The show's concept was fairly simple, a Team of teens with attitude would be chosen to fight the evil space witch, Rita Repulsa, and her army of monsters.

Overall, the show has it's charm. While somewhat goofy, and has that 90's kids show asthetic, the show certainly was engaging.

While the characters themselves dont go through major arcs, what made things interesting were the multi-episode plotlines, from the Green With Evil Saga, to the introduction of Lord Zedd, the show utilized these plotlines to keep the viewers engaged.

Decent show, 6/10

Season 3B: Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers

This season, more than anything, functioned as a bridge between Mighty Morphin Season 3, and Zeo. While also showing off the concept of different rangers to the viewers. Before, Mighty Morphin Season 2-3 Would keep the Zyuranger suits (Except the white Ranger, who was known as "Kiba Ranger" From a different Sentai Season, Dairanger) but would use Zord footage from two different sentai seasons. Season 2 would use the Zords from "Gosei Sentai Dairanger" while Season 3 would use Zord footage from"Ninja Sentai Kakuranger". But overall, no change in the suits, since the original Mighty Morphin suits were so iconic, changing them could possibly not end well.

So this season introduced the Alien Rangers of Aquitar, as somewhat a way to get the audience at the time used to other rangers, in which they used the ranger suits from Kakuranger.

On it's own, the season wasn't that good. But as a second part of season 3, it was alright and got the job done, as it built up the Zeo Crystal, so it could lead into the next season.

5/10
