This story is by Somervil_902878 and is actually 2 books (the third one is on chapter one as of now). And the story is called What we once were Books 1/2. And this is the spoiler free part.(this is an AU where scar didn't try to kill Mufassa) These are amazing, a lot of depth and character development, especially with Kion, it has a lot of emotion, and the ending of book 2 made me cry (either that or it was my parents). So really check it out.

Spoilers.

So the first one focuses on Kion and his never ending life of pain (like me). Kion would constantly get tormented or bullied. Everyone around him would say that he is sad because it is his fault and that everyone else cares for him, even though to an extent, his actions and feelings are justified. The first book ends with Kion Breaking up with Rani thinking she is tricking him (and some "stuff" is implied and if she was tricking him, she must have been very determined) but then again Rani has been a jerk to him his whole life so his feelings are understandable, and Kion joins scar. Rani, tiffu, Zuri and a few others move away to another land to start a new life.

The second book is more dark. It focuses on Rani and her group in their new home, and she gave birth to a cub (again, if she was tricking Kion, that is serious dedication). But the pride is Quickly taken over by a small group of males and half of them dont know that they can just pay to get laid (thats an exaggeration but you get the point). And a few moments do have sensitive subjects that I wont refference. The Book ends with the pride escaping back to the pridelands, while Rani stays back and kills their leader, but then Rani is supposedly killed herself.

On to critisism. @Somervil_902878if you are reading this and I know you are not, dont kill off Rani. Because there is only so much depression I can handle. I know you might want to make the story emotional but if Rani did live, she could see what Kion has become and even have a fight with him, but its like one of those fights that is more emotional than physical. But then again thats my suggestion, you can do whatever you want, just remember MARVEL killed off half of their characters and brought them back, and got away with it. But like i said, it's your story.
