Hope walked home immediately. She still held the black watch in her hand. She reached her apartment and took her keys out. Hope unlocked the door and went in. Closing the door behind her she looked at the watch in her hand.
She took a close look at it. Back in the alley, it looked like any simple one colour watch. Now that she was studying it, a little bit of green was on the frame. The watch was a digital watch. It had four buttons on its side. Two on the left and two on the right.
Hope sat on her bed. Her attention was fully on the watch. Near each button, there was a small label. The button on the top left of the watch had the label, Start. The button on the bottom left had Mode. Switch was the label for the button on the top right and Change on the bottom right.
Hope was hesitant. She wanted to try it out. She wanted to go back in time. To have at least one more chance to have fun with her deceased friends. However, she felt scared. She didn't know if it was real. She didn't want to trust the witch.
Hope placed the watch on her bed. "No," she said to herself as she got up from the bed. "I'm not taking the risk." She walked away from her bed. She walked pass by the photographs of her friends.
There were five people in one of the photographs. Hope stopped in front of it and looked at it. The photograph was taken after their high school graduation. The five of them were celebrating at Ember's place.
"We finally graduated!" Hope remembered Ember shouting. "I'm going to miss the school a bit." Hope smiled remembering Maya looking a little sad. The five of them were smiling happily in the photograph. Underneath the photograph was the date and time it was taken.
"I wish I can see all of you smile again," Hope said to herself. She turned and looked at the watch on her bed. "Maybe ... It is worth a shot."
Hope walked back to her bed and grabbed the watch. She wore it on her left wrist and went back to the photograph. Her fingers shakily pressed the Mode button. The digital watch asked for the user to punch in the date.
Hope pressed the Change button many times until it was the correct date. She then pressed the Switch button and pressed the Change button again to enter the month. She did the same to enter the year.
Her fingers landed on the Start button and pressed it. Hope closed her eyes shut but didn't feel anything. She opened her eyes only to see the watch asking to punch in the time.
"Seriously?" she asked herself. Her fingers swiftly started entering the time that she wrote on the photograph. She mentally minus a few minutes so she could be with her friends before the photograph was taken.
She pressed the Start button again and closed her eyes shut. A few seconds past and she didn't feel anything. She opened her eyes slowly. "I knew this thing is n-"
Before she could finish her sentence, her body felt as though it was thrown backwards. She felt like her body was crashing through something. Her eyes were open but couldn't see anything. It was a strange feeling.
Hope felt light headed and her body felt as though it was falling. She squeezed her eyes close. It was a scary event. 'This is why I shouldn't trust a witch!'
The feeling of falling backwards suddenly reduced. Hope thought it was over when suddenly she felt as though her body just crashed into glass.
"Hope?"
"Hope!"
