Hope didn't remember what she was doing that very day. All she knew, she had time travelled to the moment she was sleeping. Her eyes fluttered open. She was laying on her bed in her old bedroom back at her parents house.
She was in her younger body. She was in her teenage body. 'Back to the time I was in high school.' She thought. Hope sat upright in her bed and looked at her left wrist. It had the watch except this time there was no time countdown. There was no disaster. 'I must be careful. I don't know when I will be brought back to the future.'
Hope got out of her bed. She walked passed a mirror. She stopped and walked backwards a few steps. Her eyes was on her reflection. She was wearing her pyjamas. 'I miss being teenager.' Hope looked at herself for a while. She kept on comparing how she was in the past and when she was an adult.
"The time when I am still a kid," she said to herself. Hope rushed to the bathroom and took a quick shower. She changed into different clothes. She wore a white t-shirt which she owned a lot of. She put on a pair of jeans and looked at herself in the mirror. "Back when my wardrobe was different," she smiled at how she looked.
Hope reached for the doorknob and walked out her room. The house was empty. As she climbed down the stairs, she took in how the place used to look like. "I miss all this," she said to herself. She entered the kitchen and found a note on the floor. Hope grabbed it and read it. "Of course ... they were busy working."
Hope placed the note on the table and started to look for stuffs she needed before she go confront Ena the witch. Her hand reached for a lighter. "Fire." She knew she needed a fuel source to create a spark.
Hope walked out of the house and headed for the garage. She lifted the garage door and looked for a fuel or anything flammable. It took her a few minutes before she found one. "Bingo." She said. She looked around for an empty bottle.
Carefully she poured the flammable substance into the bottle. Luckily the bottle was wrapped so the content couldn't be seen. Hope walked back to the house. She grabbed a bag and placed the bottle. She kept the knife hidden at the side of the bag. She looked at the items she was bringing. "I need more fuel," she said to herself. Hope poured another bottle of flammable substance.
"I think that's enough. Now for the necklace," Hope took out from her pocket a necklace. She looked at it for a moment before remembering what it was for. The necklace was supposed to be a friendship necklace. As Hope looked at it longer, the only thing she had in her mind was how the necklace was a happy death day necklace.
"This will be the last thing of our friendship." Hope placed the necklace in her pocket again. She made sure everything was ready and locked her house door. The garage door was shut. "Ena ... get ready for your death. I'm not letting anyone else die because of you." Hope sat out to walk to Ena's home.
It was years for her but she still knew where her house was. It took her a while but soon Hope was standing a distance from a small house. It looked as though it was a small storage place. "Ena." Hope took a deep breathe. "She's a witch. All witches are burnt in the past."
Hope walked closer and closer to the house. As she stand at the front door, she took another deep breathe. 'Relax.' She told herself. Her right hand balled into a fist before knocking the door.
"Just a sec!" came a reply. It was Ena's voice. Her voice sounded younger and Hope felt hurt. She would never imagine killing anyone nor burning anyone to death.
"Hope~," said Ena as the door opened. Ena stood at the door in her pyjamas. "Great to see you again."
Hope smiled. That was when she thought about the date. It was a Saturday. "We saw each other at school."
"Yea but at school was only what six hours?" Ena laughed. "Come on in. Don't keep standing out there."
Hope only nodded before stepping inside the house. It was small. The living room was also small. There was a sofa near a window. An old television and a table in the centre. "Have a seat. I will go change into something else and get some snacks."
Hope watched as Ena turned and walked towards her bedroom. Hope quickly took out a bottle from her bag and started pouring the substance quietly. She poured it around the sofa, television and under the table. 'Thank god for the sofa being near the window.'
She stopped and screw back the bottle. She chucked it inside her bag when she heard footsteps. The bottle wasn't empty. She had brought a big bottle. Ena walked out of her bedroom and into the kitchen.
Within seconds, Ena came back with a bunch of snacks in her hand. "What do you want?" she asked.
"I'll take the chocolate bar," said Hope with a smile. Ena handed Hope a chocolate bar.
"So ... you said you have a surprise for me today," Ena said. Hope stayed quiet for a moment before it clicked. 'Oh yea ... I wanted to surprise her by introducing her to my friends.'
"Oh yea ...," said Hope. 'I'll just use the necklace.' Hope walked closer to Ena.
"Ena ...," she said.
"Yea?" asked Ena as she looked at Hope.
"Close your eyes," said Hope. Ena smiled and closed her eyes. Hope reached her hand inside her pocket and pulled out the necklace. She felt sad. 'To think you will die anyway.'
"You can open them now," said Hope. Her hand held the necklace in front of Ena. Ena's eyes fluttered open and looked at the necklace.
"For me?" she asked.
"Yea ... it's a friendship necklace," said Hope with a force smile. Ena took the necklace.
"It's beautiful," Ena said.
Hope smiled. She walked over to her bag and pulled out the knife. Ena turned to the direction of her bedroom. Her eyes were still on the necklace. Hope walked closer and closer with the knife behind her back.
'I hate doing this,' she thought to herself.
"You like it?" asked Hope.
"Of course," said Ena as she turned and looked at Hope. "I'm going to wear it." Ena wore the necklace.
"It looks good on you," Hope said still keeping a forced smile. 'She looks innocent but she was the monster who killed them.'
Ena turned and was about to walk to her bedroom when she felt something sharp pierce through her back. A sharp pain was felt. Ena didn't need to turn to know what was happening.
Hope was standing at the back. The knife in her hand stabbed into the back of the witch. It surprised Hope. Ena didn't scream. Ena didn't react. Hope pulled the knife away and quickly stabbed it onto her back again.
She repeatedly stabbed Ena in the back. Blood was flowing down her back. However, Ena still didn't scream. She allowed Hope to stab her a few times. Hope didn't know how many times she stabbed Ena but she knew she caused a lot of wounds.
"Are you done yet?" that was what Ena said. Hope was shocked at the response. Hope released her grip on the knife and backed away.
Ena turned and looked at Hope. She looked unaffected by the stabbing. Blood dripped onto the floor. Ena reached over to her back and pulled the knife out. She looked at the blood on the knife.
"You try to stab and yet can't stab through the heart?" Ena looked at Hope who was backed away close to the sofa. Her bag was near the sofa.
"What were you trying to do?" Ena asked looking at Hope. "Are you practising to be a murderer?"
"No ... but I wanted to kill you," said Hope. Ena looked at Hope with a poker face. Her eyes scanned Hope. That was when her eyes landed on the watch on Hope's wrist.
"Ah ... I see now ... you're not the current Hope. You're the future."
