Divergent Soulmate

Chapter 8.

The trio follows the other initiates into the food hall the only difference between the trio and the rest of the transfers is that Jupiter, Ed, and Pete walk in without a care in the world.

Looking around Jupiter sees a girl and a few other transfers glaring at her, Jupiter tightens her grip on Peter's hand in fear because she doesn't know why the others already hate her.

"We are going over there" Pete whispers in Jupiter's ear.

Pointing straight over to the group of transfers that were glaring at Jupiter barely moments ago causing Jupiter's heart rate to increase and her nerves skyrocketed to the point where she is trembling.

"Your welcome to join us" Ed adds on.

Before Jupiter has the chance to say anything to the pleading eyes of Edward and Peter she hears her name shouted across the whole food hall.

"JUPITER"

Jupiter looks around the room along with Edward and Peter after a few moments of scanning Jupiter spots Jay jumping up and down waving his hands around trying to get her attention Jupiter also watches as Ansel tries to make Jay sit down this scene happening in front of her causes Jupiter to start laughing, turning her attention back to Edward and Peter she has a happy cheerful smile on her face.

"No thank you my friends are calling me over" Jupiter says.

Jupiter watches as Edward and Peter's faces fall feeling bad Jupiter leans up and gives both boys a kiss on their cheek returning back to her original height Jupiter slips her hands out of the boys' holds.

Jupiter walks over to her friends who are laughing their heads off at the scene that Jay caused, Jay moves down the bench a little allowing Jupiter to sit between him and Ansel.

Ansel gives Jupiter a quick hug while Jay passes her a tray with food piled high on it. Jay places the tray down in front of her before leaning in and giving Jupiter a quick hug like Ansel did moments before.

Not wanting to be left out Ansel moves closer and joins in the hug making it a friendly group hug after a while the friends break away and Jay points to the tray in front of Jupiter.

"Eat up" Jay orders Jupiter.

Without fussing Jupiter picks up the burger that is in front of her and takes a bite out of it, Jupiter chews and swallows her food before looking down at the burger in awe.

"What's up with the face Jupiter" Jay questions.

Before Jupiter can say a word in hedge ways Ansel answers for her causing Jupiter to roll her eyes and take another bite of her burger.

"Jay this will be Jupiter's first burger" Ansel explains.

Jupiter nods her head in agreement earning a grunt of an answer from Jay. Ansel shakes his head at Jay's answer before changing the subject allowing Jupiter to enjoy her burger in peace.

"So Jupiter how do you like dauntless so far?" Ansel wonders.

"It's pretty cool" Jupiter answers eating a piece of her burger.

"What's your last name" Jay asks.

"De Luca" Jupiter replies.

"Jay I just found our nickname for her" Ansel shouts.

Causing everyone around the trio to stop talking and look at Ansel, Jay looks around the room and then back at Ansel shaking his head at his friend's antics.

"Oh no, what is it?" Jupiter asks quietly.

"LUCA" Ansel shouts.

This makes everyone around the friend group turn and stare at them glaring at all of them, Jupiter shifts uncomfortable at the attention she is getting this doesn't go unnoticed by either Jay or Ansel.

"I like it" Jay smiles as he eats a piece of bread.

"Me too" Jupiter decides nodding her head in agreement.

Time Skip:

Jupiter has eaten around 3 burgers while Ansel and Jay have eaten roughly 5 burgers each, Jupiter takes a sip of her water before looking around the hall and searching for either Edward, Peter, Eric, or Four.

She spots Four sitting with a group of transfers one girl is talking to Four which makes Jupiter slightly jealous and a little heartbroken turning her attention away from Four she looks around for Edward or Peter.

Before Jupiter can find Edward or Peter there is a sound of an alarm which is drowned out by the noise of people banging their cups on the table in front of them, Jupiter turns back around in her seat and looks at Ansel with a confused face only to get a smile in return. As Jay and Ansel bang their cups on the table in time with everyone else then as the banging became quicker a man appears on the balcony above the hall silencing the noise in an instant.

"Initiates...Stand" The man commands.

Each of the best friends stands up along with the rest of the new initiates, Jupiter looks up at the balcony then by accident the man and Jupiter make eye contact.

"Who's that?" Jupiter whispers to Jay.

"That's Max, he is the head of Dauntless" Jay replies quietly.

Instead of saying anything, Jupiter looks up again and makes eye contact with Max again as the pair make eye contact Jupiter hides her shock as she feels chills go down her back, the man takes his eyes off Jupiter and looks back out over the hall of people.

"You have chosen to join the warrior faction, tasked with the defense of this city and all its inhabitants. We believe in ordinary acts of bravery and the courage that drives one person to stand up for another. Respect that. Do us proud." The man finishes his speech.

Max turns away and walks away from the balcony as he leaves everyone starts clapping then they start cheering in true dauntless fashion.

All of a sudden Jupiter is picked up by Jay and Ansel she looks down at the pair of them with a stern glare on her face, Jupiter notices that the rest of the transfers have been or are being picked up by other dauntless-born members forcing them all to crowd suffer as members clap and cheer loudly in celebration.

Instead of fighting it Jupiter puts her head back and stares up at the ceiling with a massive carefree grin on her face after a while, Jupiter ends up back with Jay and Ansel who finally let her down before bringing her into a group hug.

"Welcome Luca you are official a Dauntless girl" Jay says with a massive smile.

I'm going to do you proud Ma Jupiter thinks hugging the two boys tighter with a grin on her face.
