"Stunned"

The three of them went back to town, giving each of the children a crown. Fortunately, the pile of flowers was enough to make a flower crown for every kid.

Estella smiled and watched as Antonio and his friends play around and admire their crowns. She glances over to Camilo who she also finds watching them from beside her.

The boy got startled as he felt a hand smack his shoulder. "You should really spend more time with your brother rather than spending all day pestering me." He heard Estella say, scolding him as he tries avoiding her continuous and heavy hand smacks.

"Don't you know that kids hear everything?" She sighs and glances at Antonio before glaring back at Camilo who sends her a sheepish smile while one of his hands was placed on his pained shoulder.

"Right, and, uhm," She started muttering, her ears starting to turn red. "Sorry about last night."

Camilo studied Estella, surprised at how she brought it up all of a sudden, getting a little embarrassed himself as he remembers. "Y'know, for invading your personal space." She chuckled awkwardly.

"No, no," Camilo burst, seeing how Estella was feeling awkward and uncomfortable about their situation. "Sorry for making you apologize." He randomly said out of the blue, originally trying to change the topic but ended up apologizing due to the random awkward teen hormones that started acting up.

"What are you apologizing for? I'm the one who did something wrong." Estella confusedly said, pointing at herself. "Well, I did sort of avoid you all night," Camilo admitted, not wanting her to apologize more.

"Well, I'm sorry for sprinting away afterward," Estella mentioned, her voice getting louder, not sounding apologetic until earlier. "I'm sorry for shapeshifting into different people all throughout the party just so I can walk around without you noticing me," Camilo said, his voice also gaining more volume as the two sounded more like they were having an apology competition rather than. . . Well, whatever they were supposed to be doing.

"No, I'm sorry for– Wait," Estella paused, "Why do we sound like we're arguing?" She questioned, a short laugh escaping her lips. "Then you must be crazy," Camilo replied, giving her an amused smile as she raises a brow at him. "Me? I wasn't the only one who sounded like they were shouting." She says, blinking multiple times at him pretending to display disbelief.

"Ah, but you started it." He pointed out as she nods at him in agreement. "Fair enough." She sighed before remembering how Antonio mentioned the Madrigal's dinner with the Guzman's tonight, her eyes automatically search for a clock.

"Aren't you having dinner soon?" She asked, her head turning back at him. "Yeah, Isabela's getting engaged to her boyfriend tonight," Camilo answered, putting his hands together and fluttering his eyelids mockingly.

"Wow," Estella exhaled, "I can't believe she's getting engaged. I bet she'll look stunning in a wedding dress." She complimented, daydreaming about seeing the beautiful, Isabela Madrigal in a white dress walking down the altar, starting to stare off into the abyss.

The girl got surprised when Camilo decided to shapeshift into his cousin, making her curious. "Why are you," She cut herself off, shaking her head, "I mean, why'd you shapeshift into Miss Isabela all of a sudden?" She asked.

"How else was I going to get your attention?" He said in Isabela's voice, even flashing her a little smile on Isabela's perfect face before shapeshifting back into himself. "You always notice everyone but me." He pouted, grabbing onto her hands, feeling his heart accelerate at the feeling of their skin touching.

"Sometimes I wonder if you're just trying to make me jealous, Querida." He grinned, looking at Estella's chocolate brown eyes, planting a kiss on the surface of one of her hands sending shivers down her spine and heat through her face, staring at him with wide eyes and a gaping mouth.

Estella was too stunned to speak.

But she needed to, so she ended up croaking out a few gibberish words before finally speaking a language the two of them can understand.

"Jeez, what?" Estella laughed nervously, slipping her hand away and avoiding his gaze, trying hard not to melt and explode into a million pieces as she panics internally. "You sound rudi– rod–," She struggled to say even a phrase, her heart feeling like it was about to pop up from her chest.

"Ugh, whatever! Just go home, Camilo." She yelled, hitting his back as he delightfully laughed at her, his face couldn't help but turn red from doing a bold move in trying to display his affection but Estella was too distracted trying to hide her own to even notice.

"I'm going, I'm going!" Camilo chuckled, a few steps away from Estella's reach, in case he needed to avoid another one of her heavy fists. "Well, What are you waiting for? You're not even moving." She mentions, crossing her arms at him, leaning on her one leg.

"No goodbye kiss?" He asked jokingly, teasing the girl and immediately making a run for it as she flexes, threatening to hit him in irritation and embarrassment. "Yeah, you better run," Estella mumbled grumpily, huffing at the laughing boy who was running away from her.

When the boy thought he had gotten pretty far from her already, he looked back at where they stood, and seeing how she was already being dragged away by a little girl who looked like she was asking her to play with them made him feel a little disappointed.

He searched for her for almost the whole afternoon, and the fact that he felt like the day wasn't long enough to spend time with her bummed him a bit.

On his way back to their Casita though, he still managed to wear a triumphant smile, another fine memory of Estella's cute blushing face to add to his brain. But as soon as he got a few steps into their house, he began to feel weird all of a sudden – just like how he was last night.

He looked at his palms with furrowed brows, feeling as if something was missing, anxiety started to fill his mind, replacing the smile on his face as it slowly fades away into something like a frown.
