I had gotten dressed and now I'm studying the necklace again. It could be for anything. K could be for Katherine, Katerina, Klaus, or Kol.... Uhg, I don't know!

"Good afternoon, Elena." Kol's voice made me jump and turn around. "Are you alright, love? You seem a bit....jumpy." I shook my head.

"I'm fine." my voice was shakey. He looked down at my hands.

"What's that?" he asked pointing to my hands. I looked down at them.

"N-Nothing, just a necklace I found in my bag. I've had it awhile. I was trying to figure out where I got it, it's bugging me." I said holding the necklace up. "Could you put it on me, please?" he nodded and took it from me. I turned, he put it around my neck and I moved my hair over my shoulder. He clipped it and pulled my hair out of it. "Thanks." I whispered turning back to him. An idea came to my mind.

"Kol?"

"Yes?"

"No magic today." he gave me a confused look. "You and I are going to go out all day and act like normal humans. No magic, no super strength, no vampire speed, no compulsion, and no drinking blood except for before we leave." Kol looked confused still. "I just want to have one day, where I can at least pretend to be normal people that don't have to deal with, vampires, witches, and werewolves, everyday." he nodded.

"Okay, we'll leave after we have brunch." I nodded and my phone started to ring. I pulled it out of my pocket and checked the collar ID. It was Klaus! I looked at Kol.

"It's Klaus."

"Don't say anything about me. If it comes up you can tell him your human but not a witch." I nodded and answered the phone.

"Hello," I answered.

"Elena," Klaus's voice came through.

"Klaus. What's up? Why have you called?"

"I should ask you the same considering you called about month ago."

"Right, sorry. I forgot. I was going to see if you could help me with something but I got help."

"What happened?" I looked at Kol and he nodded.

"I was attacked one night and weird stuff happened the next day and I figured out what."

"What happened?" he repeated. I sighed.

"I was force fed the cure and now I'm human."

"I'll be there in a few days."

"No, I'll just fly out there. No one will stop me unless they see you."

"I'll have a flight ready for you."

"Me and two others." Kol looked confused.

"The Salvatore's are not to-"

"Not them. It's a surprise. A surprise you'll like."

"I'll send someone for you at the airport."

"See you soon." I hung up.

"Who's passenger 3?"

"Caroline. I figured she's in a guilty state where she'll do almost anything for me to forgive her. Invite her for brunch. We won't tell her where we're going. I love Caroline but if she gets annoying, we'll send her off with Klaus."

There was a knock at the door. I walked to the door and opened it to reveal Caroline.

"Hey," she said and I moved aside.

"Come in." she stepped past the threshold. I closed the door and led her to the dining room. "Please, sit." I've only been hanging with Kol a few days and already his formality is starting to rub off on me. She sat on one side of the table and I sat on the other side.

"So," Caroline started. "Where's Kol?"

"He should be in soon. He's packing his stuff, mine was already packed." Kol then walked in and sat next to me. "Speak of the devil and he will appear." Kol smirked and we started eating.

"Are you two....together?" Caroline asked shyly. I choked on my food and started to drink my water.

"No." Kol answered simply.

"Why did you invite me here?"

"Well," I started. "We're going somewhere and we'd like you to accompany us."

"Where?" she asks cautiously.

"Don't worry, Care." she nodded skeptically.

After brunch I dragged Kol to the grill. We went to the bar and ordered two shots.

"Ready?" I asked Kol. He smirked.

"Yes, ready to win." I smirked back.

"If by win, you mean lose. Then yes, you will." We grabbed our shots. "No vamp stuff." I reminded. We counted to 3 and downed a shot. I won. I slammed the glass down and spun around cheering. When I was facing Kol I slammed my hand on the counter. He had amusement in his eyes.

"What was that you said about winning." he narrowed his eyes at me. Then his eyes lit up.

"I know what you won't win." he grabbed my hand and led me to the pool table. Oh no. I'm okay at this game.

"Okay, I'll admit, I'm not good at this." Kol smirked handing me a pool cue.

"Here." Kol walked over to me. I leaned over the table and aimed. Kol leaned over me and helped me. I got a few solid balls in. I smiled and he slowly pulled away.

"What are you doing here?" Damon growled walking toward us.

"Hanging out if it isn't obvious." Kol replied annoyed.

"I mean what are you still doing in Mystic Falls?"

"Elena." he said simply.

"I'm sure Elena would be happier if you left."

"Actually, I would be unhappy if Kol left. I like that Kol's here and we no longer have problems." Kol smirked. "Now if you'll excuse us we should be going." I said grabbing Kol's hand and pulling him out of there.

After the grill we went to see a movie, got lunch, and then just started walking and talking.

It was dark and we sat on a bench a little too close and looked at the stars. I'm very tired and feel like I'm gonna pass out. I absent mindedly let my head fall on Kol's shoulder. He didn't seem to mind which surprised me.

"Elena?" I sat up and looked behind me to see Jeremy and Damon walking towards us. Kol stood up and I did as well. Jeremy walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me. I hesitated before I wrapped mine around him and hugged him back. He pulled back.

"Jeremy what are you still doing here, you're suppose to be in New Mexico?"

"I know. I just didn't want to leave you with him." He looked to Kol then back to me. "But it seems like he's true to what he said and won't hurt you so I'm heading back tomorrow. I'm saying bye tonight because I have to leave early in the morning." he said and hugged me. When we pulled away and looked to Kol. "Take care of Elena for me." Kol nodded.

"You don't have to worry about school Jeremy." Damon suddenly said. What?

"What?" was all Jeremy got out before Damon snapped his neck.

"No!" I screamed and the tears already falling before his body falls to the ground. I fell to my knees next to his body. "Jeremy!" I wailed. I started shaking my head. I covered my mouth with my hand. "No, no, no, no, no." I sobbed shaking my head slower. I leaned over and rested my face in his chest crying.

I felt arms wrap around me and pull me away. I turned wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in his shoulder crying. "He's...gone. The other sides gone.....so he's gone forever. He can't come back." I sobbed gripping the collar of Kol's shirt tightly. Kol rubbed my back. Darkness soon surrounded me.
