Darkness My Ole Friend

Hope Pov:

Surrounded by huge trees in the middle of nothing. Looking forward, all I saw was simple, empty, and black. I started walking and soon saw my parents. I raced to them, or rather, through them. I screamed as they vanished. "DAD, Dad...?" I screamed even louder. "Mom, mom?" I someone cried as the earth began to tremble. I wake up in a sweat, sooner feeling the hunger I used to have return.

I jump out of bed to find myself in a cage, where I immediately drank the blood bag after making eye contact with it. Still hungry, I tried to open the cage but it was locked. I started to say a spell when I heard a voice say, "Don't waste your time," Josie says in the dark, holding another bag of blood. She comes close to handing me the blood bag before snatching it away. "Why have this when you can have real thing?" She says smirking before she carefully cuts and let the blood run down her neck She evilly smirks.

My eyes turn dark red after seeing it, I tried to shake it off, realizing it's Dark Josie as she comes out of the darkness. "Where is Josie"? I say angrily. She laughs and says, "Don't worry, sweetie, she's sound asleep." Dark Josie quickly opened the cage and approached me, pushing me against the wall. She began to enlarge her neck. I turn my head, but the smell of blood draws me in as I attack her neck, pulling back immediately as I hear Josie "Hope" she groans in pain. I stare at a terrified normal Josie. I sped away as quickly as I could feeling ashamed.

Josie Pov:

The darkness in me soon disappears, as I'm left with Hope drinking my blood. Making eye contact with me Hopes vanishes. I put my hand on my neck and feel the bite marks. I quickly recognized that a newly resurrected vampire was on the loose. I run out the room in search of Hope. I begin to chastise myself for not acknowledging the darkness in me sooner rather than holding it in and speaking up. "Now look at us," I say quietly to myself.

After exploring everywhere and yet being unable to locate Hope, I realize that she had left the building. I made the decision not to wake Lizzie or my father. I make my way to MG room. I'm lightly knocking. He opened the door, half awake, partly confused, staring at me. "Hey Josie," he murmurs drowsily. "I need your help," I murmur quietly, not wanting to disturb Caleb. Mg exits and closes the door behind him. "You need my help at," he says, one eye open on his phone "3am" he questioned. "Yes Mg, Hopes missing. I need to to smell for her, the locator spell doesn't work". Mg blankly stares at me. "Okay, let me put a shirt and shoes on" he agrees before going back into his room.

Mg and I sneak around the rooms. As Alyssa enters her room, the floor squeaks, she looks around, Mg and I Froze, I immediately think of anything and kiss Mg. She groans and closes the door behind her. I take a step back, wiping my mouth. He asks, "What was that?" "Diversion," I say. We continue walking out of the school. As Mg searches the woods for Hope, I stand on the side of the school.

I walk around the school and find myself at the garden, to my surprise Hope to. "Hey" I remark slowly approaching Hope. She quickly stands up. "I don't think you should be around me right" she says seriously. "It's okay Hope, it's not your fault, if anything I should apologize" I say walking closer to Hope but she backs away. "Hope it's okay really" I say showing her a bandaid on my neck. Hope shakes her head still not sold. "Look Hope, you're still a recently vampire, you'll get the hang of it," I say dejectedly. Don't be too hard on yourself. Sooner or later, you'll control your thirst. Then you'll have complete control over all of these vampires, wolves, and even witches. I finish and smile at Hope, who suddenly smiles back. allowing me to approach her and hug her.

"Everything will be fine," I reassure Hope, gently kissing her on the cheek. "Let's get back to school," I suggest. Mg is sprinting up to us. "Found her," he jokes, and we all chuckle. We walk into the building, and Mg rushes to his room, leaving Hope and I behind.

Hope and I walk to the cage, "Sorry you have to sleep here, my father will be suspicious if you don't," I explain, and she nods in agreement. She calls my name, "Hey Josie." "Yes, Hope," I say as I return my gaze to her. "Can you stay" she asks, "at least until I fall asleep." She says "Yea sure," I respond with a smile to Hope.

N/O POV:

Josie had no idea where to sit at, looking around to find something, Hope pats to her bed, well whatever this uncomfortable thing was, Hope thought to herself. Hope proceeded to tell Josie about her dream. Josie observes as they converse about the night, the carnival, and Hope's new abilities. Josie drifted off to sleep gradually. Hope takes Josie arm and heals Josie neck. Hope wrapped her arms around Josie so won't fall of the small twin bed, and dose off as well. Alaric comes in a few hours later, carrying a few more blood bags, to check on Hope. Alaric grinned as he saw Josie and laid the animal blood down before carrying Josie to her room. Alaric returns to Hope's cage, tucking her in and kissing her on the forehead before leaving. (A/N I know Matt Davis is a weirdo but Alaric is a caring father here)
