"Why on earth should I help you? This is not part of our agreement."

Confused but mostly annoyed, Kurapika was staring at his screen with a raised eyebrow. He had been surprised, to say the least, to receive a text message from easily the creepiest man he had ever met. Granted, they had one friend in common and they had sealed a deal about information and service exchange, but it wasn't nearly the time for them to meet yet.

This night marked September 1st, and he had promised his friends he would reunite with them during the day, in the very city he was sitting in now. Alas, he didn't think he would be able to make it. Working for the Nostrade family was a particularly demanding jobs, and the other four could still meet without him and the grim ideas he was carrying these days.

After all, he was working under the Nostrade's for a reason. He had a mission, and no one, especially not a glorified perverted clown, would get in his way.

Even more annoyed at the lack of response (yet the presence of the "seen" indicator) , he started writing again.

"Doesn't seem like you to reach out to me for help, out of all people. Where's Killua's brother when you need him?"

A few seconds later, a reply came.

"It's serious. It's about [Y/N]."

Kurapika's eyes widened at his screen.

The word "serious" truly didn't belong in Hisoka's vocabulary, as far as he could tell. The man was sly, deceiving and even downright cruel, but it always played out with a smile on his face. Futhermore, there was no reason for him to ask for help about his apprentice of all people if there was nothing critical going on.

Yet, heaven knows you can never really trust Hisoka.

In an attempt to learn more, the blond boy dialled [Y/N]'s number to try and reach her, but it didn't even ring before the line was cut.

Now downright concerned, he debated on what to do. Was this a trap? Had Hisoka hurt her-- but why would he? Then again, why wouldn't he?! Or perhaps this was a ruse for something else?

After debating for a few minutes, he composed another number; this time Leorio's.

This time it was successful. After a few rings, he heard some kind of click, and then the drawling annoyed voice he knew so well.

"Urgh, who's this? Do you have any idea what time it is?! Good grief," the tall man croaked out, having clearly been woken up by the call.

"Leorio, thank goodness. It's me."

"Kurapika?! Glad to get a hold of you bud, but it's three in the morning! Some of us want to roam the market tomorrow. What's the big idea?"

"It's Hisoka. He sent me a message asking for help," the blond said matter-of-factly.

"What? Are you insane?! Don't go. Why do you have the creepy bastard's number in the first place?" Leorio drawled.

"It's about [Y/N]."

"What?!?" the tall one screeched out, now sounding more than fully awake. "Something happened! Is she okay? Did he do something to her? I knew it wasn't a good idea to-"

"Calm down Leorio," Kurapika firmly instructed. "I don't have any details. I tried to call her but it didn't even seem like her phone is still in service. Hisoka gave me no details, but before going further with him I wanted to call you. What do you think we should do?"

There was a short silence, then the sound of the older one clearing his throat. "I think- I think we should make a joined call with Killua. Gon doesn't have a phone, but they're probably together. This concerns them too; plus I'm told they saw [Y/N] more recently than we did. They were in heaven's arena together, last I checked."
