Samantha bounded up the steps of the bus and paid her fee. The inside of the bus was crowded with people, and she squeezed into the nonexistent space while trying not to push.

The vehicle started moving at the green light, and the mob swayed and bounced as one, keeping rhythm with the movements of the bus.

It slowly came to a halt at the next stop and loaded its waiting passengers. It seemed several people decided not to get on when they saw how crowded it was, but one brave boy paid his fee and stepped into the throng. And the bus started moving yet again.

"Excuse me, but I need to get off at the next stop. Could we maybe switch places?" a brown-haired girl politely asked Samantha, and she obliged.

When she was settled in her new standing spot, she looked up and found she was right in front of the boy who had got on at the last stop. Their eyes locked for a second before she hurriedly placed her gaze to the digital clock behind him.

They stood in this state for long minutes, unable to move due to the crowd seemingly not reducing at all. Samantha squirmed, uncomfortable with being squished between so many people for so long. A sigh escaped her lips as she heard the driver announcing the next stop, three stops away from hers.

At the stop one stop away from hers, she was wondering whether she would be able to get her phone out of her pocket when suddenly, the bus screeched to a stop, causing the mob to surge forward.

The person behind her pressed into her, and the inertia caused Samantha to crash into the boy in front of her. When she came out of the initial shock, she was leaning against his chest.

She turned her head up and caught the boy's eyes. A blush took over her cheeks.

"I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, though she wasn't sure if he had heard since the bus was filled with shouts from other passengers.

"It's alright," he replied with an assuring smile, and Samantha wished the person behind her would get off her back already so she could stand properly.

"I'm sorry, I wish I could get up bu-"

Her words were cut off as the bus suddenly lurched forward, once again causing the crowd to surge backwards. Samantha's wish was granted as she flew off the boy's chest and fell backwards. She involuntarily closed her eyes.

She landed on the person behind her, but before she could open her eyes, something collided into her. She could feel that something against her face.

Upon opening her eyes, she saw that 'something' was the boy. His eyes were literally right in front of hers, and when she came to her senses, she was shocked to find his lips against hers.

Both of their eyes widened, and he immediately lifted his head. His voice was panicked and anxious as he rambled an apology.

"I am so sorry! I didn't mean to do that! It was just, the bus suddenly moved, and I was caught off guard and, I am just so sorry." His eyes roamed everywhere except at her.

They straightened up once everyone was calmed down, and everything was back to normal ㅡexcept that the inside of the bus was louder than before due to the passengers shouting and chattering about the recent happening.

Though she was still shaken up by the bus and the collision, Samantha wanted to assure him it was okay like how he had.

"I-It's alright. It was just an accident." She smiled weakly at him but turned her body away from him in order to prevent any more unwanted incidents.

Her stop arrived a while after, and she squeezed between the people to get off. The cool autumn breeze cooled her heated cheeks, and she ran her fingers through her tangled hair and patted down her crumpled clothes.

"Um, excuse me?"

Samantha turned around at the voice and found herself looking up at the boy from the bus. Her cold cheeks immediately flamed up at the sight of him.

"Oh, is this your stop too?" she asked, trying her best to be casual.

He nodded, and she noticed how strands of his black hair fell into his eyes when he did.

"Yes. And I just wanted to apologize once again." The boy ran a hand through his hair in embarrassment.

Samantha shook her head and replied, "Oh, no, you don't have to. It was a mistake; I completely understand."

He coughed awkwardly and rubbed the side of his neck. "So, which way are you going?"

"Th-that way." She pointed vaguely behind her.

"Ah. I'm that way," he pointed to the opposite direction, "So, I guess this is where we say our goodbyes." He raised a hand and before he walked off, he added, "I hope we see each other again." And with a charming smile, he strode away.

Samantha raised a hand belatedly but was too late. She quickly lowered it and spun around. His last smile kept replaying in her mind, and she shook her head to get it out.

However, she couldn't deny that she wouldn't mind if she saw him again. As weird as it sounded.
