Chapter 13

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" The Kamado household erupted. The house was decorated with festive ornaments and colours. Inosuke had never seen anything so vibrant before. He was overjoyed. His first Christmas he was going to spend with other people.
"PRESENTS!!!" Tanjiro's little brothers and sisters yelled, scrambling to the tree in the corner of the room. Tanjiro tugged on Inosuke's hand. Inosuke looked at Tanjiro and noticed he was absolutely shining. His smile was pure and his eyes were full of love. Tanjiro really wanted Inosuke to enjoy Christmas.
"Let's go get our presents" Tanjiro smiled.
"I...have a present?" Inosuke asked, confused. Tanjiro nodded and dove under the tree. After a few seconds, he came back up from under the tree and handed Inosuke a box. Inosuke's looked at the box with widened eyes. There was a note written on it by a handwriting he recognised. It read,

"Dear Ino, I cannot express how happy you make me feel every day. Just being around you is enough to keep me going forever. I wanted to show you just how much I love you through this present.
From Tanjiro❤️"

Inosuke opened the box and saw a cap with a boar design on it. Next to the cap were two bracelets. One of them had Ino written on it and the other had Tan written on it. Tanjiro rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well I kinda indulged myself with the bracelet but I wanted to sho-" Tanjiro was interrupted when Inosuke grabbed him into a hug.
"Thank you Tanjiro" Inosuke said softly, tightening his grip on him. Tanjiro returned the hug and smiled. "My pleasure Inosuke" They shared a moment before they were interrupted by Nezuko's calling.
"Guess who's under the mistletoe!" She teased. Tanjiro and Inosuke both looked up. Tanjiro's face turned red but Inosuke just looked confused.
"Mistle...toe?" He asked.
"If you and someone else are under the mistletoe together, you have to kiss!" Nezuko said excitedly.
Inosuke's face flushed bright red. He couldn't take his eyes off the mistletoe.
"W-wait t-th-thats a-a b-bit-" Inosuke's stuttering was interrupted by a peck on the cheek from Tanjiro. He turned to Tanjiro who was just as embarrassed as him.
"I'll get you back for this Nezuko" Tanjiro declared. Nezuko laughed and ran away.
"So Inosuke, Ready to go on our date?" Tanjiro turned to Inosuke. Inosuke nodded.

"We'll see you guys soon!" Tanjiro called as he closed the door after exiting.
"Where to?" Tanjiro asked, trying to hide his excitement.
"Well my plan is a coffee shop first then an amusement park." Inosuke said. Stats appeared in Tanjiro's eyes.
"I can't wait. Let's go. Let's go" Tanjiro tugged on Inosuke's arm towards the bus stop. They boarded the bus towards the town centre. Once the reached the cafe, they took an outdoor seat.
"Woah. This place is really nice Ino" Tanjiro said
"As it should be. I did pick it after all" Inosuke replied.
"Oh Inosuke you've got something on your cheek" Tanjiro said, leaning over the table to wipe it off. However, he didn't take his hand away from Inosuke's face. Inosuke enjoyed the contact, despite being in public. The blue boat grabbed a hold of Tanjiro's hand and kissed his palm before setting it back on his own face. They both leaned over the table and shared a short and sweet peck.
"Good morning may I take you're or-" The waiter trailed off.
Tanjiro and Inosuke broke from the kiss and looked up at the waiter, only for their faces to be full of dread seconds later.
"ZENITSU?! YOU WORK HERE?!?" Tanjiro exclaimed in a state of panic. Inosuke sat there with widened eyes.
"TANJIRO?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TE-"
"Shut up you dumbass. Keep it down we're in public" Inosuke covered Zenitsu's mouth before they attracted attention.
"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you" Tanjiro apologized
"Why not?" Zenitsu asked
"Because you had a crush on Monjiro" Inosuke interjected," yeah I knew but I'm over it now"
"Wait Zenitsu did you?" Tanjiro asked
"Umm yeah I did. Not anymore tho" Zenitsu added. The trio shared a very awkward silence before Zenit6 snapped out if it.
"Oh right. Your orders..." He asked. Tanjiro and Inosuke ordered and ate their food quite quickly.
"See you at school Zenitsu" Tanjiro said as he paid at the counter before leaving.

"I wasn't expecting Zenitsu to be there of all places" Tanjiro sighed.
"Me neither but still I.... Had fun" Inosuke looked away, scratching his cheek. Tanjiro giggled in agreement. They boarded the bus and got off at the amusement park.
"I'm happy to be here with you" Inosuke said, looking at the large rides and countless stalls. Tanjiro grabbed ahold of his boyfriends arm and ran inside. They tried ride after ride non stop. Inosuke occasionally clung to Tanjiro for safety and comfort. Overall, they had an experience they would never forget.
"Man I'm hungry" Tanjiro groaned
"Wait here a bit. I'll go get some taiyaki" Inosuke walked off. On his way to the stall, he bumped into someone.
"So...rry" Inosuke shuddered. He couldn't tell exactly what it was but that guy gave off a bad feeling. Inosuke has been alone for so long he's able to sense when danger is near. It's what kept him alive until now and he's honed that skill to perfection.
"I better hurry and get to Tanjiro" Inosuke said, rushing to the stall. He ran back to where Tanjiro was, only for him to not be there.
"Tanjiro... TANJIRO!" Inosuke called yet to no avail
Inosuke's heart rate began to escalate as he scrambled around looking for Tanjiro. He spotted something familiar an ran towards that direction...

All Tanjiro could see was darkness... He was being taken somewhere. He could tell by the scent.
"Inosuke's probably worried sick about me" Tanjiro squirmed in his kidnappers hands.
"Come now Tanjiro. Is that a way to treat your former flame?" A low voice said
"No...N-Not you" Tanjiro shook, trying even harder to break free. He wiggled until he was thrown to the floor, his back pressed against the wall. The bag over his head was ripped off and infront of him kneeled a pale man with red eyes.
"Muzan..." Tanjiro muttered.
"Long time Tan. Think I forgot about you?" Muzan said, placing his hand on Tanjiro's cheek. Tanjiro jerked his head away from his hand
"Oh so cold. You remember all the fun times we had" Muzan rang
"They weren't fun for me. You took advantage of me. Used me just for my body..." Tanjiro said lowly, almost whispering
"Oh so it wasn't pleasurable for you too?" Muzan teased
"NO I HATED EVERY MINUTE!" Tanjiro yelled.
"That's a shame... I wasted all my time for nothing... Surely I deserve payment" The pale man suggested.
"Back off. Don't touch m-" Tanjiro was cut short by a kick to the stomach. He curled up, coughing
"Worthless little bitch" Muzan continued kicking Tanjiro on the ground. Tanjiro's coughs and cries became louder with each impact.
"Someone please..." Tanjiro whispered as he was slowly beginning to lose consciousness...

"STEP THE FUCK OFF!" Loud voices rang in the alley. Muzan turned towards the source of the sound and two fists collided with the centre of his face, sending him flying into the wall. Inosuke and Sanemi stood where Muzan stood mere seconds ago.
"Make sure he's alright. I'll handle Toothpaste over there" Sanemi said to Inosuke. He was seething with anger.
"Oi you, that kid is like a little brother to me and I make sure people who mess with my little brother pay the consequences." Sanemi continued, slamming his fists together.
Inosuke rushed down to Tanjiro
"Tanjiro are you okay?" Inosuke worried
"Yeah I'm f-" Tanjiro coughed up blood. Inosuke took the necessary precautions to ensure his safety.
"Ino... Thank you for the..." Tanjiro trailed off, unable to hear Inosuke's calls for him, as he slipped out of consciousness
