Chapter 10

Two weeks past like lightning. The festive season arrived. Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu sat in their living room.
"Considering today's the last day before holiday, do you guys have any plans?" Tanjiro asked.
"Well I'm going to celebrate with my brother and a friend at my house" Zenitsu replied.
"I...don't have plans" Inosuke replied, looking at the floor. Tanjiro's heart filled with worry for his boyfriend. At that moment, Zenitsu's phone rang.
"Sorry guys, gotta take this" Zenitsu said, moving to his room to make his call more private.
Tanjiro turned to Inosuke.
"Inosuke, how about you come spend your Christmas with me?" Tanjiro suggested with a smile. Inosuke's eyes widened. "You really mean it?"
"Yeah of course."
Inosuke smiled and jumped in his seat
"I love you!" He said, wrapping Tanjiro in a hug. Tanjiro giggled and returned the hug.

Surely enough, tomorrow arrived and it was time for the trio to leave campus. They waited in the courtyard.
"Next time we see each other will be next semester huh?" Zenitsu muttered
"No no we can hang out with each other during the holidays. I'll text you guys" Tanjiro smiled.
Zenitsu and Inosuke smiled and nodded. They waved goodbye and went their separate ways. Only the really didn't. Inosuke only seemed to go his own way to make sure Zenitsu didn't suspect anything.
"Right. Ready to go?" Tanjiro smiled, intertwining his fingers with Inosuke's. Inosuke gulped and nodded. And so they set off, Tanjiro's home was quite far so it took them a few hours to get there. They boarded the train and took in the passing sights together.  It was Inosuke's first time on the train.
"Wait so are you telling me you walked to school??" Tanjiro exclaimed
"Of course. You know my situation." Inosuke replied
"Yeah but that's really crazy. You're pretty strong" Tanjiro teased, squeezing Inosuke's biceps.
"Naturally. Did you forget who you were talking to." Inosuke smirked

They hopped off the train and called a taxi to Tanjiro's house. They pulled up to a lovely house with a two floors. They got out of the cab and Inosuke stared at the house while Tanjiro got their bags out.
"This... Is where you live?" Inosuke exclaimed.
"Yup. It's quite secluded for some personal reasons but it's peaceful. Come on let's head in" Tanjiro beamed at Inosuke.
They walked up to the door and were about to knock, only for the door to be flung open and multiple little children fly out of the door.
"BIG BROTHER!!" The kids yelled, tackling Tanjiro to the ground with their overwhelming weight. Tanjiro laughed and hugged his siblings.
"I missed you guys" He said, nearly brought to tears. The kids got off Tanjiro and helped carry their bags in. Inosuke followed Tanjiro, tugging onto the back of his shirt.
"Mom! I'm home!" Tanjiro yelled. The red head's mother walked around the corner and smiled
"Welcome...back?" She stopped, spotting Inosuke. Tanjiro turned in confusion and looked at Inosuke. His eyes were widened.
"It's...you...Kie" He stuttered.
"How are you doing? It's been a while" Tanjiro's mother replied, smiling brightly.
"You guys know each other?" Tanjiro asked, completely perplexed
"Well I'm not sure he remembers me but I met him quite a while ago coming back from work. I always used to spend at least 10 minutes talking with him and I used to bring bread from our store to him. His blue ends are a dead giveaway. You've grown, Inosuke" Kie smiled.
Inosuke's eyes watered and he fell to his knees.
"I never thought I'd see you again, let alone you'd be Tanjiro's mother." Inosuke looked up, wiping his tears. "Now that I'm a bit older I can finally say this, Thank you for taking care of me"
"Please get up. It's nothing really. I can see that you out that money I gave you to good use as well." Kie chuckled. Tanjiro couldn't stop smiling at their interaction.
"Well I guess there's no need for introductions. Mom is it alright if Inosuke stays here for Christmas? He doesn't really have anywhere to go" Tanjiro asked.
"Of course. Although he'll need to bunk with you. We don't have a spare room"
"Sure thing" Tanjiro replied, dragging Inosuke up the stairs.
"Ke-Kentaro?" Inosuke mumbled. He looked up to see Tanjiro, wiping tears from his eyes.
"I'm so happy you finally got to thank the person who saved you" Tanjiro turned, wrapping his arms around Inosuke.
"I'm so lucky to have you" Inosuke whispered, returning the hug.

Inosuke left his belongings in Tanjiro's room and they headed back downstairs.
"I wonder where Nezuko i-"
"Shh come up quickly before Tanji-"
Tanjiro met Nezuko halfway down the stairs. Behind her was Aoi, led by the hand.
"So I take it all went well?" Tanjiro teased
Nezuko looked behind Tanjiro and noticed Inosuke.
"Same for you?" She responded. They bot nodded
"Have you told Mom yet?" Tanjiro asked.
"Yeah she was pretty happy for me" Nezuko replied.
"That's good" Tanjiro hugged his sister and headed down the stairs. He met his mother at the dinner table
"Hey Tanjiro, it's time we plan that ritual we always do at this time of year"...
