Chapter Ten

I lay in my bed staring at the ceiling, I keep thinking about Alex kissing my cheek yesterday. It seems so unlike him, he wouldn't normally do any thing like that. He seems to act more normal when he is around me, well not shy anyway. But I suppose I can be normal around him too, I don't have to be the perfect popular girl.

The thought runs through my mind until I finally decide to get out of bed. I dawdle down the stairs, after walking down the two flights of stairs I go into the kitchen. My dad and step mum are stood over near the cooker making breakfast.

"Morning." They smile as I walk in.

"Morning."

I walk through the archway and enter the dining room. Joshua is sat on a chair staring at his phone.

"Morning Bella."

"Morning Josh."

I go over and sit in the chair next to him.

"Who are you texting? Your girlfriend." I tease.

"You sound like Meghan when ever Alex is mentioned." He says

"No she is worse." I smile "anyway you didn't answer my question."

"No, for your information I do not have a girlfriend."

"Bit defensive aren't we."

My dad and step mum come in carrying two plates, they place them on the table in front of Joshua and I. They come back in carrying their plates.

"Would you like me to finish making the tea?" I ask my dad.

"If you don't mind."

I stand up and walk back through into the kitchen. I stir the tea, remove the tea bags then add the milk into each of the cups. I take two of the cups in and place them in front of them. I go back through to pick up mine and Joshua's.

When I get back to the table I start to eat my breakfast. My dad and step mum make a full English breakfast almost every Sunday and it is always yummy.

I tuck into my breakfast, only stopping to sip my tea. Everyone else does the same. I continue eating until my phone rings in my pyjama pocket which makes everyone stop to watch me. I check who it is then decline the call.

Me: Will ring you back in a bit :)

I text Alex so he doesn't ring me again.

Once we have all finished eating I pick up the plates and pile them up. Joshua picks up the cups that were filled with tea and we carry them into the kitchen. I load them into the dishwasher then back up the stairs to get dressed.

When I get in my room I ring him before I begin to get dressed. I walk over to my sofa and sit down while I am waiting for him to answer.

"Hello." He says

"Hi Alex."

"Do you want to come round to mine today?"

"Yeah, alright." I say, I have nothing better to do today so I might as well. Katherine's mum made her get a part time job when she turned sixteen because although they are rich she still thinks she should earn some of her own money, so I won't be able to see her today. "Sophie won't be there will she?" I ask.

"No, she is going out with James today."

"Okay, see you in a bit."

"Okay, bye."

I put the phone down and begin to get dressed. I pull on a jumper and a pair of blue skinny jeans. I put some makeup on then tie my hair up in a ponytail. I pick up my trainers from my wardrobe floor and go downstairs.
