TWENTY-ONE

Silas's P.O.V

I put my phone away as I hear a front door open. I look up at Flora's front door as I was leaning on my car. She had a suitcase and a couple of duffle bags in her hands. She seemed to be struggling to carry them to her car. "You look like you are struggling," I said. She pauses and closes her eye for a moment before dropping everything in defeat. She turns towards me and sighs. 

"How did you find me?" I shrug. 

"I have my ways." She looks away with a huff before looking back at me. 

"So who sent you? Ronan or Ryder? I think it's only fitting I know who is going to kill me," I roll my eyes as I let out a dry laugh. 

"Ronan has no use for you and Ryder is still upset about you betraying him for his brother but I doubt he would kill you." She gives me a confused look. 

"So why are you here? Do you have a grudge against me?" I stand up straight and take a step towards her and she takes one back. 

"I'm not here to hurt you, Flora," She gulps. 

"I wouldn't blame you if you were. I mean I was the reason Azura was killed. I helped out Zane." I snort. 

"Azura isn't dead." She lets out a breath of relief before confusion fills her face. 

"What?" I shake my head. 

"I was outside the club when you showed up. You wanted no part of Zane's plan. It seemed as though you pitied Azura and envied her at the same time." 

"I know what's it's like to be with him. Yes, the sex was great but he is abusive, or at least he was. Since he's been with her something changed in him. I was jealous at first that he was with someone new but glad that it wasn't me he was taking his anger out on. But the longer she was around him the better he got. I don't think she should have to pay the price of being his when she didn't have a choice." I nod and look down. 

"You don't have to leave. You are safe here." I look back up at her. She shakes her head. 

"If I stay then Apollo will kill me. I betrayed him too," I grab her hand softly causing her eyes to drop down to the movement. Her eyes go back to mine surprised. 

"I won't let him hurt you." She searches my eyes with even more confusion. 

"You would protect me? Even after everything I put Azura through?" I give her a small smile. 

"I know you, Flora. You just want someone you can count on. Just let me be that someone for you," She swallows harshly. 

"What is Ryder going to say? Or Azura?" I roll my eyes. 

"Azura is more understanding than you think. Ryder is well Ryder." She nods. 

"Okay," I let out a small smile. 

"Okay?" She nods again. 

"Okay," I nod with a bigger smile. 

Azura's P.O.V

I roll out of bed with confusion as to where Ryder was. I open the bedroom door and look into the kitchen. His eyes went on mine with a smile. "Thank you, doctor. I'll see you tomorrow." I walk down the stairs with confusion as he puts his phone away and turn to me. "Did you enjoy your nap?" I walk up to him. 

"Yes. Were you on the phone with a doctor?" He gives me a small smile and wraps his arms around me. 

"Yes, she finally got some time to squeeze us in," I nod. 

"Why do we have to go to your family doctor? I have a doctor already," He sighs. 

"Because I know how my doctor works and I know nothing about yours. My doctor will be your new doctor for now on." I let out a sigh.
